Should you eat at American chain restaurants when you travel? {Gadling}

Jan 27th 2011 4:33PM I'd add another reason to eat American food overseas-- you're tired of the local cuisine and/or daily grind of traveling and want to be in familiar surroundings. I rarely go to chain restaurants in NYC but on my RTW trip enjoyed visiting the Pizza Company in Thailand (not exactly an American chain, but it wasn't Thai). I've also had American breakfast sandwiches at McDonalds in foreign countries. Sometimes you crave the comforts of home :)

Galley Gossip: 5 tips for traveling with a wedding dress {Gadling}

Jul 7th 2010 12:50PM Great tips. Just one question though-- how could you possibly book an extra seat on a plane for a dress? You'd have to put the reservation in someone's name-- and when that person doesn't check in, the airline would release the seat and open it up to standby passengers. No? Can you clarify exactly how this would work? Thanks!
