Substance abuse is not a medical condition, whoever wrote that has no clue. IT's behavior based. Rehabs are money based and preach the 12 step crap that doesn't work. People quit when they want to quit, period.

May 7th 2011 9:27AM Thank God he didn't give AA credit for his alcoholism cure. He quit, like most addicts and alcoholics do or can. No mystery there. Just stop when we get sick of it. I am happy for him and very glad he expressed what is true: we can quit our addictions, it's not a disease.

You have to decide in your heart to take your life back and suck it up and do it. No counseling, self help, 12 step bs will do it. it's a choice we have. if she's bipolar she needs a qualified psychiatrist (dr. drew excluded, therefore) and perhaps medicine, not some glorified spa.
