Cockpit Chronicles: Boeing vs Boeing. Pilots weigh in on the flight qualities of each type {Gadling}

Oct 9th 2011 10:51AM I loved the 737 almost best of all. Only the DC3 was nicer. The 737 had the traditional "steam gauge" instrument presentation and intertial nav updatede/backed up by the traditional VORs. I could grease it on in a stiff crosswind with flaps 40. Also, with autobrakes on a 3 & flaps 40 snowy runways were no problem. You had the power to climb out of icing quickly, and the heat to deal with in when you had to descend through some in an approach.

Army's Generous Pay, Benefits: Are Skyrocketing Costs Sustainable? {Politics Daily}

May 4th 2010 6:23AM This is the reason our military budget is so high - so much of the money is spent on personnel instead of equipment. When I enlisted in 1960, the majority of lower enlisted and officer grades (E1-E5, O1-02) cycled through in a few wyars and got out, not staying for twenty (years) and lifetime retirement (which, in those days wasn't that much anyhow). Then, there was free lifetime medicalcare (but you had to go to a military facility to receive it - no picking & choosing a good civilian doctor. It was service, not a highly paid career.

Paris Motor Show: Citroën C-Métisse Concept {Autoblog}

Oct 18th 2006 10:05PM I agree with Marie's comments about the older Citroen - It was unique and beautiful This one follows 9sort of) in tis footsteps. I, too, would love to Citroen return to the US market IF, and only IF, they continue to make unique cars instead of the usual pap. My Dad owned a Peugeout 403, and that, too, was very nice. The French Mercedes was what the germans called it. Fast and comfortable. Schnell und bequem.
