A Slice of Japan in New Jersey: Mitsuwa Market {Gadling}
Oct 15th 2008 5:06PM There is a Mitsuwa center here in Costa Mesa (Orange County, So Cal) and it's just as interesting as described above. Food court is excellent, produce in the market is finest quality, there is a sushi prep area - extremely fresh and fairly priced, and the Japanese products shopping as described. Huge magazine/book/video/CD area too - but you have to read Japanese. It's a fun place to explore and the food is always unusual and delicious. So Cal has a large asian population, the shoppers and food court denizens are probably 90% Japanese or other asian - it's very popular. We like to pick up a couple trays of sushi to take home for dinner, along with a bottle of wine. Life is good!
CES 2007: The Cars of CES Part I {Autoblog}
Jan 16th 2007 1:55PM It's just the evolution of hot rodding. Started back in the 30's or 40's, guys trying to make cars go faster. Then the customizing craze of the 50's and 60's. Then the handling mods of the 70's came along. The manufacturers followed up on all the trends, incorporating the advances into production cars. So what's left to hot rod or customize today? Just the stupid crap nonsense you see at the CES show. Cars in this crowded world are rapidly becoming irrelevant and car freaks attempting to express their individuality are limited to looking more and more extreme and more and more stupid. The smart guys are working on advanced propulsion systems like hydrogen/fuelcells/ batteries - that move us away from gasoline and pollution. Here's to smart guys!
Igloos Luxury Portable Loos {Luxist}
Oct 17th 2006 6:45PM I was on a flight Hong Kong - L.A., full of Chinese and the tiny toilet room floors were awash in urine. Couldn't drop my trousers to sit down. People are disgusting ... is this how they behave in China? Why do we let them into the USA?????????
