Your assessment of the situation is abominable. First you say that fat people are fat because they eat too much, then you say it is a gland problem, which is not always related to overeating. Make up your small mind. I am overweight, currently a shade over 200 pounds, and have tried to lose weight but am on medications for various illnesses which make this much more difficult. Have a little compassion (oh, that's right, you have very little compassion, and it shows.) To everyone making comments about fat people, remember that a percentage of them can't help being overweight, although many are just overeaters who don't care.

Despite what you think, I thought that some of these titles were cute. I am not a parent, so maybe I am out of line, but what is wrong with having a sense of humor? I loved many of the books she lampooned, as well as the classics set in "olden days." I think my favorite was "Moon, Goodnight Already." The writer has a way with words, in my opinion, and if you can't appreciate it, then don't read her column; I am sure many other parents still will.

First, who are you talking to, the 9 year old or the 5 year old? It isn't clear from your sentence. Second, just because someone has a "handicap" such as a missing leg, or in my wife's case cerebral palsy, does not mean she has to miss out on life. I know more people with "handicaps", both physical and intellectual, who do quite well. You, of apparently limited intellect, are obviously not one of the successes as proved by your thoughtless comment.

You are correct about spelling, but you need to learn about punctuation. I am a professional editor and proofreader and I could barely follow your run-on sentences. I wonder where some of these posters get their educations; their lack of the basics is woefully apparent and reflects on whatever message they are trying to get across.

You would come off as much more credible in your posts if you didn't write like a person who has no sense of spelling or grammar (or are you just that lousy a typist, given all the mistakes I found?) Criticize others, but make sure your house is in order before you do. I also found your anger off-putting, and was not able to clearly follow your argument due to bad writing.
