Nov 24th 2009 4:37PM Maybe I am naive, but I would tend to agree with those who back the veteran. I have a few comments to the various people who posted here (I am going to make them general, as I am not sure exactly who said what). As I have stated in previous posts, there appear to be three distinct types of helper dogs; guard dogs, trained to attack, service dogs, trained to be docile and help the person with whatever they need, and guide dogs, who are trained especially to lead the visually impaired. The last two jobs are not meant for aggressive dogs; the owner would get injured if the dog attacked suddenly while they were on a leash or guide. There are also certain personalities which are suited for each job. A guard dog would probably be a shepherd, a rotweiler, a pit or some other similar breed. A service or guide dog would more likely be a retriever or setter, although shepherds can be trained for service and guide duties as well.
As for the belief that the vet did not have PTSD, how could you possibly know that? Did you go through what he went through? I have also seen that some people also state that he was a Marine, proving that they did not fully read the article, which stated he was in the army. The spelling and grammar on this board is also disgraceful; as a professional proofreader some of your posts hurt me to read. I am amazed at some people's lack of basic writing skills, and these are the people who cast aspersions on others. In conclusion; Let's support our veterans, as they risk their lives for our freedoms, including the freedom to be stupid (you know who you are.)

You must be in need of a guide dog yourself. It clearly states that this was a service (not guide) dog; the training is different, and so are the responsibilities. Next time read the article before showing your ignorance.

Nov 24th 2009 9:01AM Having read all the posts on this listing, I am amazed that there is such disrespect for former service members. I deal with the disability world on a daily basis, as my wife has cerebral palsy, and we have friends who have differing levels of disability as well. Maybe ten million is a lot, and maybe he allegedly did something that these brainless employees saw as threatening, but there was no excuse to attack the man. If he had PTSD, then something like that could set his recovery back, or put him into flashback, as he is once again being physically assaulted. I don't know the whole story, but those who are accusing him of fraud need to learn respect, and zip their lips. To Mike, who was very disparaging, you sound like a spineless slug with no respect for anyone else, so it is not surprising to me that you are so venemous. Peace and Happy Thanksgiving to all, and to all our vets, I am proud of you.

Nov 5th 2009 5:59PM I can't believe that they would cancel this over the show before it, Medium, which is just a shadow of what Ghost Whisperer is. CBS saved Medium, but it should go before Numb3rs does, or at least put Numb3rs between Ghost Whisperer and Medium, and see what happens. I am very disappointed, as I love the interplay between Don and Charlie, and all the other characters as well. Please do not take Numb3rs off.
