More on Muslim family kicked off of AirTran flight for questioning {Gadling}

Jan 3rd 2009 5:16PM Anyone who bothers to Wiki AirTran's safety record would know it's not that hot. Remember that crash in the Everglades that killed 110 people? That was AirTran by another name.

Three of the incidents in the last 10 years involving AirTran planes were due to electrical fires. I might be asking, myself, where the safest place to sit was, were I to travel with them.

Death of a President -- In the U.S.? {Cinematical}

Oct 14th 2006 6:41AM I watched it last night. It is not what you (who have not seen it) perceive it to be. What the filmmakers have done is take a fictional event but involving real people (plus of course some fictional characters) and look at the possible impact of that event. And while it imagines a terrible scenario where a sitting president (whom, incidentally, the filmmakers portray very positively) dies and everybody more or less makes up their minds about who the perpetrators are from the get-go with little evidence, with a nation in shock ceding vast new powers to the incoming administration, but also how violent and ugly political protests have become and what a polarizing effect the Iraq war has had on America. It does not make a judgement on which side is right.

(SPOILER) You find yourself having sympathy with the wife of the man who is falsely accused, tried and convicted of the crime and with the unwitting family of the real assassin, but also with the Chicago police, the Secret Service, and a government which is scrambling around looking to make sense of what has happened and trying to figure out who to punish for it and how.

This work makes you really want to keep Bush alive at all costs. I know I felt that, and I've never been a Bush fan.
