Apr 2nd 2007 10:31PM Can honestly say never heard " Hey lets loose bags today cuz we can make more money selling the contents" NEVER! Bags 'unclaimed' remained so, mainly because no ID outside or inside. Plain and simple. At large stations, a person might be assigned to find ID if possible, at small stations if no ID was apparent, bag was sent to a large station for more inspection. From there of course if no ID? You guessed it. Sold!
Most Baggage Lost Ever! {Gadling}
Oct 12th 2006 11:59AM Do arrive early. Try to stay with same carrier vs connection to other airlines. During holidays etc. Carry most luggage on if possible. Spent about 15yrs of 31yrs in Baggage Service for major carrier. If articles missing, get paperwork for "Piferage" and mail in. Get phone numbers for airlines corporate baggage dept. Keep calling and writing for best results.
