Apr 25th 2011 1:03PM I was looking at your photo of the pricing chart and it reminded me of when I was in Ethiopia. My friends would try to hide me in the car when they paid for things because everything would double in price when they saw the forenji (me). It was really frustrating for them and me. On the other hand I do understand why they charge us extra, but it doesn't make you feel any better about it.

Aug 2nd 2010 10:17AM Meg Nesterov got the facts wrong on this story. The woman who was bumped was in fact a stand-by customer. This changes everything. Stand-by passengers are subject to be bumped off a flight at anytime.
Some thoughts on travel in Ethiopia {Gadling}
Apr 30th 2010 9:55AM I have been to Ethiopia 3 times. While Ethiopia is not a place for people who want luxury travel, Ethiopian people are some of the warmest and most respectful people I have ever met. Ethiopia is a beautiful country. Despite being a poor country, I have never seen so many people who walk around with a smiles on their faces. This is a must visit country for real traveler.
