Apr 26th 2010 12:44AM I agree, these types of conversations need to be happening NOW. It's hard for people to take climate change seriously when they aren't feeling the immediate impacts or aren't threatened personally. But there are steps that can be taken to lessen the impact or begin to formulate plans and policies to begin adapting to climate change.

Using tourism revenues or even the tourism industry as an outlet to take action and to encourage other businesses in the supply chain to make sustainable choices can make a huge difference in the long run.

There's also another article on their research page (listed under 2009 reports) that looks at how climate change is affecting places such as the Himalayas, Amazon, and Polar regions.
