The Perks of Brewing Versus Buying Coffee -- Savings Experiment {WalletPop}

Jan 27th 2011 12:06PM I have a Mr Coffee 4 cup coffee maker, it only make two of the larger size cups, but that is just right so I have two cups for breakfast. I have gone through several of these, they had a problem, called Mr Coffee and they sent out another one.
I use two scoops of coffee for the 4 cup.
I watch the price and the sales. The other month CVS had the small Folger, 11 oz on sale for $2.99, the paper the week before had a coupon insert with a $1.00 off on any size Folgers, I got 3 differant papers that had the insert in, so using that coupon I got 3 can of the 11 oz for only $1.99 each. Watch carefull, some times my local grocery store where I shop will put on it brand of coffee on sale. Even if I don't need it then pick up a can.
But I can't see going out in the morning to get that cup of coffee, much rather have it with my breakfast and paper in the morning before getting dress for the day.

Massive Propane Recall: Feds Warn of Explosion Danger {WalletPop}

Jan 20th 2011 2:57PM If you smell the gas, then you have a problem. Because if there is no leak no smell. What cause a leak, someone not using it the way it should. As the one man said, use soap water look for the bubbles.
If you are careful you will not get hurt.

Dollar General vs. Walmart--Price Comparisons on 10 Standard Grocery Items {WalletPop}

Jan 19th 2011 11:41AM I will not shop at Walmarts. The last two time I did I ask a question of one of the empolyees who said they would check. After 30 minutes I left.
I do all my grocery shopping at at a local owned grocery store. There prices campair to all of the other supermarkets. But the profits from the store go to local activities, not to some other state or country.
No matter where you shop and what you buy most everything sold here now is made some place else, China, Mexico and so on, the Reagan, Bush's admistration made it possible for the companies to send most of the work over sea. More profit for the rich.
You can go crazy if you spend a lot of time running around trying to get the best price. Look at the inserts in Wed Paper and see the prices being charged for the week. Those are the bargans. Milk $1.50 a gallon at one store.
Again watch the coupons, you end up buying more then needed because of their requirements.
So have fun enjoy you shopping. Not me I try to get in and out of the store as fast as possible.

How to Write a Resume for a Federal Job {AOL Jobs}

Jan 14th 2011 11:26AM I am sure that there are more people working in the Goverments, Federal, State, County and city that don't know what they are doing, then you will run into in private industry because private industry can weed them out faster. But that does not say all are not capable of doing the job. True when you try to get through to some of these people it seems like you are talking to the wall. But when was the last time you called up about a techinical question on you computer? Most likly you talked to some one in India. The goverment can not sent the jobs out of the country, but private industry can and does.
Most of the problems with dealing with goverment employees is the rules that have been made by our elected official as to how they do their job. If they don't follow the rules they are in big trouble.
I worked as a engineering for several years, got in trouble a couple of times because I by passed a rule to get the job done. If I had not done so it would have taken two more days to do a 5 minute job. I had the wrong person do the job, he knew how, and used to do the job, but had a differant job then and could not do that work.
So don't blame the goverment worker. He has it made, most of the time a life time job, good benifets what more do you want.

Crooks Can Guess Digits in Your Social Security Number, Study Finds {WalletPop}

Jan 10th 2011 3:05PM You go to a Doctor's office and you have Medicare, the Medicare Number is you Social Security number with some letters added. So every Dr office has a list of people's Social Security number. The idea of keeping this from anyone is crazy, too easy to get.
The crooks that fraud Medicare only have to get someone in a DR office to give them a list of people and their number and away they go sending in claims for the next few months, then move on to a differant bunch. Make more money that way then selling drugs, and no gun involved.

'Three Stooges' Short List Includes Samberg, Knoxville and ... Jacobson? {Moviefone Blog}

Jan 8th 2011 11:15AM No way could you make a Three Stooges movie that woould be anything like the original. The thing they did and the timming was something special. They were funny,
There is something that should be noted, we all sat and laugh real hard at the Stooges, the banging on the head and the rest of it. But like all of the good comedy groups of the time, the Marx Brothers, Laural & Hardy, Abbott & Costello none of them need off color stuff to be funny. You never heard the "F of S" word or anything else in there programs, they showed us that you don't need that to be funny.
There act keep going on and people keep watching the reruns and laughing at all of there stuff. Can any of the comic to day with out being dirty beat the Abbott & Costello baseball bit, no way.
Maybe we should bring back these show on prime time when the kids can see that you don't need dirty talk to be funny.

Waldorf-Astoria Faces Third Bedbug Lawsuit {AOL Travel News}

Jan 7th 2011 10:29AM This is the only country where when something happens the first thing people do is call a lawyer. Why because the Lawyer work on the deal where there is no cost to you untill we win. Then they take a big bunch of the money. So lawyers will alway jack up the number because the higher the award the more they make. If they don't win they are out their time and effort,but most time they get something.
Until we change the laws here where you pay up front for a lawsuit, and there is a limit on the percent that the lawyer can take, we will continue to have these big crazy law suits.
But don't ever expect a change because most of Congress and State goverments are made up of lawyers so they will not cut off the gravey train.

School Allows Epileptic Boy to Have His Service Dog in Class During 3-Week Trial {Pawnation OLD}

Jan 5th 2011 11:08AM The school board just did not want service dogs of any kind, that is why they rule they made is for only from the ADL, which they knew it took years to get a dog from that place. So by that limit the met the requires of the law about service dogs, but knew that there would be no service dogs in the school. Tricky way to get around the law, it is done all the time.
The parents did what they should fight the rule, get the school board a chance to work with them before going to court for a long drawn out fight where only the lawyers will be the winners.
I am sure that this dog will prove it self many time over, and the school board will change the rule and will do so that make them look like the good guys, everyone wins then.

Norwegian Cruise Line CEO, Kevin Sheehan, is Not Quite Ship Shape on 'Undercover Boss' {AOL Jobs}

Jan 3rd 2011 3:07PM Again I watched the show, it is enjoyable. But in this case how did they move him in a week from these ships which some take a weeks cruise. So that once he got board he was stuck there for a week.
We did not have a many tear jerking with this bunch. The one with the new baby comming ang the other who had lost his mother. But some in the past it seemed that everyone had a problem and they had look to find those with problems.
But all in all it still is a nice show to watch, sure better than some of the other ones.
Does give us a little, very little but a little inside to the working of these companies.
I think the first series was the best.

Tourist Killed By Bus At Walt Disney World {AOL Travel News}

Dec 27th 2010 11:48AM Crosswalks are places so that the person wanting to cross the street can do it safely. But no matter what they still are responsible to check that the car or what ever respect the crosswalk.
I have seen crosswalks where the people don't look, just walk out into it to cross over. But where I live if a police see you driving and not stopping for some one on the crosswalk, you get a big ticket. There again if they see you crossing in the middle of the street the may give you a ticket.
Every day you read where people are killed by a car when they ran across the street in the middle of the block.
Now if you live in some of the eastern cities pedesterian no matter where seem to be fair game. But I must say when I moved to California from the east I had to learn that you stop for people in the crosswalk. I did not get a ticket because some friend warned me.
