What's the Most Inappropriate Gift You've Gotten in a New Relationship? {Lemondrop}
Jul 6th 2010 2:05PM I'm not sure if this is inappropriate or just plain douchebag-esque, but after hearing for a month about the "amazing birthday surprise" my then-new, now-ex boyfriend was planning on getting me, I was a little taken aback then the "surprise" was a shiny 90s clubbing t-shirt from a men's clothing store. After doing a bit of digging with his friends, I found out that he had bought it for himself without trying it on but realized it was too small when he got it home. Being too lazy to return it to the store, he somehow figured it would make a decent birthday gift. Yeah, not so much. He was fairly overweight so him thinking it would fit me was insulting to boot.
Hate Exercise? Your Gym Teacher Might Be To Blame {That's Fit Canada}
Jan 11th 2010 3:32PM James, that is exactly my story too. I loathed gym class but once I started working out at my own pace, doing what I liked, I soon figured out that I loved it. Thank goodness I gave it another chance.

The dangers of high fructose corn syrup {That's Fit}
Aug 30th 2007 5:03PM Hi Laurie, Thanks for your feedback. I agree with you -- I avoid hfcs quite effectively and don't have a raw foods diet, but it's easy for me to find alternatives to the major brands out there. Not everyone is so lucky -- people living in small communities don't have as much selection as I learned on a recent out-of-town excursion. When I said it's hard to avoid unless you have a raw foods diet, I meant that to sound sort of tongue-in-cheek but I guess that didn't come through. I've corrected the post to make it more clear.
The basic point I am trying to convey is that it can be avoided if you know what to look for.

Johnson & Johnson sues the American Red Cross {That's Fit}
Aug 9th 2007 5:30PM Really? I don't agree .. Johnson and Johnson doesn't seem to use the red cross symbol in their marketing -- they use that swirly J & J symbol for every product I've ever bought from them anyway. So to me, it seems like they're acting like a toddler, claiming it as their own because they had it first, even though they don't use it. Plus when I see a Red Cross I think 'Doctor', not 'baby shampoo', and so does half the world. It's a universally recognized symbol for medical assistance, so I think they should be allowed to keep it.
