Opinion: What's Up With All These Out-of-Control, Bullying Parents? {ParentDish}

Feb 24th 2011 10:49PM Well said angelaeven. No wonder there are so many miserable people in this country, since compassion is lost on the parents. All they care about is maliciously enforcing their 'desired result' so they can have their obedient pets, without realizing they are raising future adults who will inflict mistreatment and a cold attitude toward others. For the most part, children aren't born monsters who need to be bullied into behaving. Extreme misbehavior should be viewed as the flaw of the parents, not that *gasp* playing with a toy qualifies. This mother can expect rebellion in the near future.

SmackDown: Would You Publicly Punish Your Child? {ParentDish}

Feb 22nd 2011 3:15PM "Now, instead of this kid working a crappy job someday a best, or becoming a drug dealer and killing someone, or being killed by someone at worst, he may have a chance to actually make something of himself."

Yes, he can grow up to be a bitter, selfish idiot like you and his mom. Who, if this was actually successful and he was a financial success (doubtful), would be a terrible member of society (like you and his mom). I'm not sure why people value money mongering so highly over being a decent person. Decent people don't resort to humiliating their children in this fashion. Maybe she should do what others who support this bs said and go to school with him.

Feb 22nd 2011 3:08PM "And for those that read this until you have walked a mile in the shoes of a parent with this problem DO NOT JUDGE. You are not qualified. Parents need to be allowed to parent and sometimes that takes more than a scolding or time out."

I'm judging because there 'parents' ARE THE REASON for the -problem-, and were more than likely raised the same way themselves which is why they have no emotional intelligence. You act as though kids are born being unresponsive, which is untrue unless they have a disability. They are taught the wrong priorities. How does not being a mom suggest I should not judge? I feel as though I should judge based on the very fact that this child is doing so poorly in the first place.

Feb 22nd 2011 2:58PM The issue being, does this method work? Because it sounds like you're just reveling in the revenge. I'm questioning the intelligence of anyone here who just automatically accepts discipline without thinking of the consequences. Does it even MATTER to you if it ends up not working at all?

I Was Evacuated from Egypt {AOL Travel News}

Feb 4th 2011 8:32PM "My husband and I have visited about 30 countries over the past 15 years. We usually stay for a month or so in local neighborhoods, not fancy hotels."

Sounds like someone needs to get over themselves and pull their head out of their ass, then maybe I'll pay attention to what they have to say.
