AOL Straw Poll: Oct. 3-10 {Politics Daily}

Oct 4th 2008 8:14PM It is quite obvious that this poll cannot be real. I am a registered independent voter whom will be voting for John McCain and Sarah Palin on election day. All one has to do to figure this out is look at the votes counted for McCain in California, Oregon, Washington and New York. I'm sorry but this is a really bad poll. I wish this was a better poll than what it is, although it would really chear me up to know that McCain is going to get over 50% of the votes from the most left leaning states in the country. Sorry New York, but overall, even though on occasion you show that you do have some bi-partisan tendancies, just look at your Mayors, we all do know that you are the only big electoral vote on the east coast that is going to go democratic in this and every Presidential election. Anyway, it would be nice to see a poll like this show up on Zogby or some other major poll that actually does predict quite accurately. I do like the fact that one can editorialize their lives away on a site like this though. Sometimes I just don't feel like doing anything else. Lately that's been a lot, and I can tell there are a lot of people out there like me yesterday and today just from reading some of the editorializing that's been posted on this site. If you read this, I'm sorry I wasted your time. Just felt like typing for a little bit instead of working, like I should be doint. Love you all for all of your comments, but get with it in regards to the result of this straw poll. Thank you AOL for giving the Republican's a place to comment these days. It just seems that the only thing one gets to read in the regular news is the leftist message. Thank you NATIONAL MEDIA chains. FOX, even you could do a lot better. What do you think you'll loose those advertising dollars if you don't go left at least half of the time. You're probably right, you wouldn't. Have a good night.

AOL Straw Poll: Oct. 3-10 {Politics Daily}

Oct 4th 2008 7:12PM I would think that after all of the other polls that have been taken, this poll would definitely look much differant than it does as far as the color of the states goes. What gives? Are all of the other polls that far off. My guess is, they are! America, get ready for a big surprise on Election Day. News media Democrats(which means all of the media, including FOX)I hope you're all ready for this one. Please don't cry on national TV, thank you.

Airlines Touting Brazil as New Hotspot {Gadling}

Oct 4th 2008 6:19PM What, in this article, would entice me to go to any one of the places mentioned. Besides the fact that I don't like air travel that takes more than 7 hours, why would I travel to Brazil. The article surely doesn't give me a reason to go. It states nothing about a destination location, such as a resort, spa, or anything of the sort. So, I'm wondering how this article even got put in the top articles spot for AOL. Generally, I read these because they are supposed to be NEWS. This is not. But thanks for letting me know I can spend $900 and get to Brazil and back. JhM

Nicolas Cage cuts a deal with the IRS {WalletPop}

Sep 11th 2008 8:11PM The Fair Tax Act has a huge following in this country. People write about it all of the time. Even though Mr. Forbes was not the right man for the Presidency, even he knew enough that the Fair Tax would be better than anything we have ever had. Do enough of us write to our senators and congressman? Do we even telephone or write to our local officials to show our disgust about the laws that are being enacted even on the local level? I would be willing to bet not! It used to be "we, the people" that governed this great nation. Our voting history has shown that we no longer govern this nation. "We" have left that part to others. It is well past time that we take the action necessary to take back this great nation and take back the money our government gives away to other countries that we the people do not support. Yes, a national sales tax is efficient. But with the internet the way it is and the way the people with the money would find to sell products to us, they might very easily escape taxation through alternative sales approaches. I sure hope that sometime in the near future someone figures all of this out. I know that the very first blog I read had most of it right. Another blog said something about people wanting to pay less taxes and the IRS wanting to collect more. Both are true. Compromise is the only solution with the current tax system in place. But as they say, the people with the money will control how those of us who don't, will play the game. There is a society out there, I believe it's called "The American Monetary Society" or something like that, has an alternative to all of this mess "we" have created for ourselves. More of us should look to the alternatives that are out there and more of us should call, write, email our congressman and senators. We would all be better off if we took back control and voted and let our elected representatives know how we feel about the laws that are being made and the laws Congress passses that affect how much each of us has to pay in taxes every day. I hope this is that time where we actually do take back our country. I hope that my grammatical errors don't offend anyone.

What Does '06 Tell Us About '08? {AOL Elections Blog}

Nov 11th 2006 6:19PM I like this article. I also like the blogs posted. It seems that they came from a younger demograpic based on the style of language used. It says something about the articles contents in regards the trend towards democratic demographics in future elections. It also leads me to believe that what was said in the article is true. The younger voter is going to tend towards the democratic side of voting more and more as they get older. These young bloggers are certainly leaning towards a democratic vote in '08. I can appreciate that but I also think that the margins were so thin that Americans are still a strongly not in favor of one party vs. the other. This is a good thing. Maybe the vote will depend on what a candidate's history of voting really is. I believe that the new voter is voting more intelligently than voters or old. That is because they have access to more information than the voters of old. It's great that they have the ability to find out what the candidate really stands for and the candidates voting record is readily available to the general public via the internet and other media. I hope that television and other meedia opinions don't continue to impose their will on the voter as they were able to do in the past. Sometimes that was the only form of information voters had. It's not the case today. I am sorry that the media has put their strongly democratic views out as truth. Trying to tell the voter that their view is the only correct view and if you don't vote their view than you're an idiot. Thank whomever that that era of idealogical imposition on Americans thinking is just about over. Thank whomever that younger Americans are strongly independent in their own thinking and cannot be easily swayed by commentators and opinion givers in the media. Keep it up young America. Keep telling your peers to vote. Keep suggesting to your younger friends that their vote is going to shape the world that they live in. I am happy the new voter is making its way into the world. From an old voter.

Harrington Sparks Offense, but Stupid Mistakes Doom Dolphins Again {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Oct 9th 2006 7:58AM New England looked ok. Tom Brady looked sloppy. Don't know why he threw so badly. Especially after last week's game. What happened Tom. Thanks to some bad play by the Dolphins, you guys won yesterday. Thank you coach Belichick for not feeling the need to rub it in. Especially after the game that was played. 20-10 was about as good as it should have been, maybe not even that good. Maybe it should have stayed at 13-10 but I thanked the football God's for giving New England that last touchdown. It did seem to throw the game over the top, even though Miami didn't give up until than. I have been a New England fan for over forty years. Tom, get it together out there and please take the team to the Super Bowl one more time, this year if at all possible.

Cowboys Crumble Under Pressure {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Oct 9th 2006 7:46AM Good game all the way up to the last interception thrown by Bledsoe. The Cowboys were in it all the up to that point. If it hadn't been for McNabb's excellent job marching his team down the field and the long balls he threw for completions, this would have been a Cowboy's win. Cheers, McNabb. Yes, it is a team game and it took everyone on your team to win the game. If you hadn't had the team credentials you could never have looked as good as you did. Just look at Bledsoe. Yes, he through a lot of interceptions, but when you've got a defensive front seven in your face every other if not every play, you can't expect too much. Was glad I watched the game. One of the better on yesterday.

Cowboys Crumble Under Pressure {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Oct 9th 2006 7:31AM The game was extremely strong for the first three quarters. A lot of mistakes were made on both sides. I must admit, Bledsoe did appear to be "in the headlights" last night, but he sure has done wonders up to this point. T.O. didn't have as good a game as he should have. McNabb did an excellent job and should have. He didn't look that good against the Giants but oh well. There are not to many unbeaten teams out there anymore, and probably one less after the Monday night game. Overall, really enjoyed the game. Good job Eagles!!!!!
