Do Guard Dogs Protect Homes From Burglars? Well, These Pooches Didn't {AOL Real Estate}
Nov 15th 2012 8:31PM Most of us know our dogs would more likely lick a burglar than attack him, and we wouldn't have it any other way. People with some breeds like pit bulls, dobermans, rotts, German shepherds, as sweet as some may be, many are trained for protection, but most of our dogs are not, they're Rodney Dangerfields, not fighters, lovers.
Connecticut Family Ends Up in ER After Eating Poisonous Mushrooms Growing in Backyard {AOL Real Estate}

TripAdvisor Review Costs Hotel Employee His Job {Gadling}
Oct 14th 2012 10:58AM I used to use Tripadvisor a lot, but slowed down because of less than happy experiences following their advise, and now I'll certainly never go back. The bartender should sue them for slander. They published an anonymous, and inaccurate, accusation of a crime that got a man fired. There should be damages for that.
South Carolina Homeowner Says Facebook Photos Show Teens Broke Into Home, Threw Party {AOL Real Estate}
Oct 3rd 2012 5:15PM Come on, completely violated? Hyperbole. Angry, certainly. They didn't even know about the breaking and entering for months until seeing it on FB. No vandalism, no theft except the electricity, and they even cleaned up after themselves. Not an excuse or justification, punishment was deserved, but completely violated? Come on.
Rob Olson of Lake Elmo, Minn., Destroys His Entire Lawn With Weed Killer {AOL Real Estate}
Jul 17th 2012 8:56AM Too embarrassed to go ahead and host the event, but not too embarrassed to tell the world he must be told a labeled "weed and grass control" product must specifically state, "This will kill your lawn," to protect him from himself? Ever hear the phrases, "stop digging" or "stop while you're ahead"? Well, to be as perfectly clear as possible, in this context they mean, stop talking, close your mouth, and by so doing, stop embarrassing yourself, or you shouldn't cry over spilt milk, it'll only make it worse. Plenty, perhaps most, of us have learned from something similarly boneheaded that we've done to always, carefully, read, the, directions. Good luck to his sons and the good cause, though.

After Backlash, Man Evicting 98-Year-Old Mother Relents {AOL Real Estate}
Mar 3rd 2012 7:38AM It's enough for me that he served her on her 98th birthday, and now blasts his kid, or is it old brother, not that it matters. What is he,75? Served her on her birthday? Why, because that's the only day of the year he visits her? People do have to go to nursing homes for a lot of good quality of life issues. Many do not want to be a burden. Many can receive better care. Many have no family. We don't know the whole story here, but one thing we do know, an eviction notice is not an appropriate birthday present for you 98 year old mother. Children provide their elderly parents a home when they need it, they don't take it away.
