35 fantastic U.S. beaches for Summer {Gadling}
May 14th 2010 12:36PM Maybe you came on a relatively cold year, or maybe I'm just too much of a Mainer to notice but I LOVE the Maine ocean. Even after traveling to beaches around the country including the Hawaiian Islands several times and Florida I sitll find the cool Maine water so much more refreshing than 80 degree water. I know many people would disagree with me, but water temperature preference is all subjective.
Not to mention that the times that I have been to Hampton Beach in New Hampshire my feet go numb upon touching the frigid water. Even being from Maine, that water was unbearably cold!!! Maine oceans may be colder than tropical oceans, but they are just the right balance in my opinion. If I'm sweating because I'm sitting under a blazing sun in 90 degree weather, why would I want to jump in 80 degree water? Give me OOB anyday :)

Apr 7th 2010 7:24PM I have to agree with you, some of these are just kinda cheesy. But just to let you know... King of the Hill ISNT real, it really is just a cartoon. It took me a few episodes to figure that out too, so don't worry it happens to the best of us ;)
