Getting Kids to Try New and Healthy Foods {ParentDish}
May 6th 2011 7:38PM The "no peanut" rule is a good one for schools to enforce. Peanut is the most fatal food allergy and some highly sensitive people can go into anaphylaxis with just a trace of peanut. My son's school doesn't serve peanuts in the cafeteria even if it's on the county schedule for that day, and they ask parents not to send peanuts/peanut butter for lunch or snack. It's not being unreasonable, it's protecting those who could die from peanuts.
Peanut Allergy Protest a 'Misunderstanding,' Florida School District Says {ParentDish}
Mar 23rd 2011 7:28PM STOP blaming the little girl! I've been an allergy nurse for 3 years and I can tell you for a fact that peanut it the most fatal food allergy. People have died from a trace on someone else's lips (such as a kiss after someone ate a peanut butter cup). I would rather my son, who doesn't have allergies, take an extra minute to wash his hands than to risk another child'd life. This young girl didn't ask for this attention and extra effort on her behalf; it's necessary to keep her alive. Yes, her parents face extra challenges in the outside world but are coping with them.
Leading Experts Rethinking Food Allergy Causes {ParentDish}
Feb 11th 2011 8:06AM The most common food allergies are to peanut, milk, soy, corn, wheat, and shellfish. Those foods should be avoided if concerned about possible allergies. Basic parenting tells us to introduce one food at a time so we can be alert to possible food allergies. This is not something to play around with.
A Marriage Proposal on 'Minute to Win It' (VIDEO) {AOL TV}
Dec 25th 2010 9:34AM Congrats to the happy couple. I only hope that during the ceremony she slyly puts her LEFT hand out for the ring, since he put the engagement ring on the wrong hand. I'm a newlywed and have never been happier (my second marriage--the first sucked) and wish everyone as much happiness as my husband and I have.
Whoopi Takes on the Catholic League on 'The View' (VIDEO) {AOL TV}
Dec 23rd 2010 4:39PM Excuse me, but I'm baptist and I know my soul has been saved because Jesus Christ died for me and my sins, as well as the sins of the world, then arose from the grave to ascend into heaven. Not only am I saved by the blood of Jesus, I was baptized by water--complete submersion, not just sprinkling on the foreheads. Don't you DARE insult the salvation of Protestants. I will be in heaven with the most devout Catholic, despite the fact that I don't recite Hail Mary whenever I sin. Christ paid it all, all to Him I owe.
My First Christmas: Five Stupid Mistakes From a Personal Finance Blogger {WalletPop}
Dec 17th 2010 7:45AM Um, she's Jewish, not a pagan cult. The Jewish religion does not recognize Jesus as their savior, or messiah, but as just a regular person; therefore, they do not celebrate His birthday. Do you light a menorah--no, it's not a Christian holiday ritual. Don't be judging others for their religion.
To the author: we've all done that, even if it's our family's annual traditions! Don't feel bad, but get used to it, and suggest they draw names instead of buying for everyone next year!!
Kids Room Decorating Ideas: Rooms That Grow With Your Child {Shelterpop}
Nov 27th 2010 9:41PM I'm sorry, but I'm not rocking my baby in a chaise lounge--I'm putting a rocking chair in his or her nursery! Also, no changing table? What is this lady smoking? The changing table for my son was a white chest of drawers that had the changing table on top. The changing pad could be removed and the table part folded over the top of the chest to be a built-in shelf. This lady's full of mud. Most wallpaper borders for babies and toddlers are not applied with adhesive and remove very easily--just pull.

Aug 28th 2010 10:42AM I was thinking the same thing, that the shark from Escape From LA was the one from the ride--that's about as much as the ride gets!
Home Ec: 5 Things You Should Never Vacuum {DIY Life}
Mar 13th 2010 11:23AM Who vacuums ammo? Anyway, I used my ex-girlfriend's pool vacuum to try to get off last summer and apparently it was turned on "high" and nearly sucked it right off! So, sadly, your friend's not the only one to try that!
How Sad Not to See the Real McCoy {Fanhouse - Jay Mariotti}
Jan 8th 2010 8:32AM It was a good game to watch. I wish McCoy hadn't been injured, as he is one of the best college QBs and he should have had his final game done right. I'm a GA fan, so the only time I yell "Roll Tide" is for nights like this one. Glad to see the SEC win--again. Texas did give them a run for their money. That 1st quarter was brutal, with Texas defense killing Bama's offense. McCoy, hope you have a speedy recovery and a bright future in the pros!
