VIDEO: Heckler calls Obama the antichrist {Asylum.co.uk}

Oct 3rd 2011 9:20PM As much as I love the people of England, I have to say the American people are terribly unhappy with the politics of this president, the direction he has lead our country in, and the massive debt he has put us in due to his lack of leadership, knowledge, experience in running a country (much less a management position in business even!). He wants large government which will be in ever area of our lives and we have found his suggestions, the free spending he has done (with no budget) has allowed him to bring our country down on its knees. We are NOT happy with him.

The media built him up as a God when he 'spoke nicely' as a candidate. He was compelling, smooth talking, and touched a desire of a great many of Americans wanting change in our politics. Hence, ghe was voted in. Not at all in the best interests of our country. He has lied to us, blamed _everyone_ in the world for his mistakes, decisions, etc. How long can a president blame the previous administration -- he has made a long run of it for 3 years. God help America if it re-elects this crazy, dangerous man. I am a God fearing Christian who is not wanting to stand buy and see America burn like Nero watched Rome burn. Please understand - we only want to save our country by removing a dangerous element in our political government. There is simply too much corruption in our government from the president on down.
I don't know much about how your government works, but I do know that American people love the English and we would not have chosen OUR president to be so rude to you. One day I wish to visit your country as a tourist - I want to leave some of my American money on your soil with my best wishes for your country. Our president has only dissed our country when off our soil.... can you imagine your Queen doing this? I cannot. God bless the Queen and God bless America!

VIDEO: Watch the moment a deaf woman hears herself for the first time {Asylum.co.uk}

Oct 3rd 2011 5:53PM Sarah was in my cousin's new daughter in law's wedding -- and she was charming. This kind of blessing is truly a gift from God whether people want to acknowledge it or not. Any doctor worth his salt will admit that they are nOT God but there are times when it is purely God's doing that miracles happen. God has graced her this wonderful miracle with the assistance of doctors and technology. I AM SO HAPPY FOR SHE AND HER HUSBAND! Thank you , God for your grace and and wonderful love for your children.

The Perks of Brewing Versus Buying Coffee -- Savings Experiment {WalletPop}

Feb 4th 2011 2:45AM Have been reading the posts for the last hour plus... and everyone talks about the cost... something I do fairly often: I call the 800 # on the back of coffee (or any other food item I buy) and call the company requesting coupons! I am surprised how often they will send them to me... and tell me to call in another 6 wks to request again and they will send out more! So you can save more money on what you buy if you will use coupons... but don't just wait to find them -- ASK. I am **always** very nice and complimentary to the person I am speaking to about their product because 1) you get more results with honey than vinegar (as my southern grandmother told me - she was right!) and 2) the companies DO like feedback about their products. I am never negative.. if I am requesting coupons, obviously I DO like their product. Ask and you shall receive..... I've heard that before and its true!!

Am impressed how everyone loves their coffee. The gentleman from NY who wanted the chicory coffee - find the brand (or search for a web site) and ask where the nearest distributer is for their coffee (& don't forget to ask for coupons!). You may wll be able to buy online *(ask if you can use your coupon when you order online). Nothing lost by asking.

Happy Coffee, ya'll!!!

Where They Ate: Authors, Eaters, and Food and Travel Writers Tell Their Favorite Eating Experiences of 2010 {Gadling}

Dec 26th 2010 12:45AM Doc who spent a couple of wks in Hattisburg, MS:

You are right about Leathea's Barbaque - its well known down here. If you get to the Gulf Coast of MS, check out The Shed off of I-10 (exit 57 heading east). You will love it!

Also in Hattisburg, you may want to check out the Purple Parrot, Robert St. John's place - very good food. He is a food writer in the local paper (on the coast on Fridays) and has written some cookbooks.

When in Rome, ask the locals where the best place to eat! If you want a po boy, go to Pirate's Cove in Pass Christian... love their po boys. Have a Barq's root beer in the bottle like the locals.....
Just a little MS Sunshine of good food when you get back down this way!!! Have a great 2011.....

A Single Square of Christmas {Gadling}

Dec 25th 2010 11:13PM I've wondered if my son would feel this way - he hasn't been home for Christmas in 21 yrs. I hope he will come here one of these days. (My son is gay & the gay community has become his family, sadly.) I wish he could realize that time is all we have and once it is gone... it is gone. As are we. There is a lot of loss when our children leave.

Though this feels sad to me, it is a well written piece and there is so much love underneath it. I hope one day my son discovers that there is some love that is irreplaceable. A Mom

Cadillac Sky Lead Singer Leaves Band {The Boot}

Oct 21st 2010 10:38PM If you want a throughly research book on whether Christ was/is real, whether what was reported in the bible was factual, etc... read "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. He was a legal writer (Ivy League education - his major was Law Studies)- Strobel was an atheist & his wife became a Christian. She had changed SO much that he decided to see if there really was truth, historically, what is reported about Jesus in the bible. Read his book - you can get it in paperback. It is very through. Jesus is exactly as the bible says he is. The bible is real, the Holy Spirit is real and certainly God is real. I challenge any of you who are doubting to put your money where your mouth is and read this book. Its excellent and enlightening. PS Strobel became a Christian because of what he learned... you will like the book.

'I Went on a Cash-Only Diet' -- My Life on the Suze Orman Plan {Lemondrop}

May 11th 2010 10:05PM This girl doesn't live in the real world where I live! Granted, she is still a child in her 20s, which explains her mental processes. She hasn't lived on a fixed (really fixed!) income, buying a home , trying to pay insurance (car, house, life), utilities (water, garbage p/u, gas, electricity), gas and maintenance for car, SBA loan (after Katrina), medicine - Rx, health care, tithe, phone, occasional haircut, dental, and last of all, food. Guess what I cut back on when I must.....

If she can save $800 and still spend on Prada, cocktails, vodka vs beer, etc ... maybe she ought to re-do her budget and really save! When she is in her 60s she won't have to be concerned about surviving vs living!

Good luck to all.

A Mother's Day Thought for Childless Mothers {Politics Daily}

May 9th 2010 9:35PM Other mothers who are not remembered are those who have had miscarriages. Whether it is only for a short time - or long time - they carried their child, the loss is still... a loss. A number of years ago I sent a card on Mother's Day to my friend who has miscarried and she wrote back saying no one had thought about the fact that she was a mother in loss. Once a mother, whether the birth happened or not, always a mother. We love our children very much.

Happy Mother's Day to those of you who haven't been able to hug your babies/grown children today. We salute you, too.

John Rich Responds to Alleged Anti-Gay Remarks Made to Chely Wright {The Boot}

May 8th 2010 8:41PM It doesn't sound like he was putting her down at all. I think he sounds very classy, not at all putting her down. She, onther hand, was actually not terribly nice. We are each responsible for our own lives and how we respect other people.
