Every morron in the country has heard a warning about any home built before 1978 possibly having lead paint. Banks tell you, insurance companies tell you, mortgage holders tell you, FHA, VA, and HUD people all tell you, and have done so for years and years!

Jan 23rd 2013 2:49PM You would be surprised at what landlords don't know. This one here appears to not know a tenant has the right to withold rent payment until complaints are addressed. One I had years ago didn't even know I wasn't given a lease with him when I moved in, therefore I could not be accused of breaking it. He later also learned that, in our city, a tenant must be given 30 days to evacuate premises AFTER the next rent-due date, NOT 30 days after the evacuate notice is given. It gave me almost another additional month to find a new place to live.

I did my own inspecting, and spared myself their over-priced inspection, then used the saved money to make repairs after I bought the house. Of course , I'm a good DIY guy , and many others can do what I did, also.

To 'Rick3' ,...if you think liberals bring on a police state, what do you think Newt Gingrich would have done with law enforcement with the tax money he would have robbed from social programs? What didn't go toward the next blood-for-oil war, would have ended up in police coffers.

It's clear that the sale of the house, AND what to do with the money has bi-partisan support. So where (or who) in the hell is the problem???!!!
