Video of the day: driving into Phoenix dust storm {Gadling}

Jul 16th 2011 7:04PM I lived on the outskirts of the Valley to the east, at old Williams Air Force base (which is now ASU Polytechnic) and my house was right across the street from the taxi way and I had a clear view all the way to the Superstition Mountains (the most beautiful view I have ever had...I could see the lights of east Mesa and AJ at night....gorgeous!). I could watch these storms roll in and they are always amazing to watch. Sometimes it would be this white dust and it would look like fog...very eerie. When we would turn on the air conditioning the amount of dust that would come out of the vents was amazing! Everything in the house would be coated with this fine white dust.

Jul 16th 2011 6:03PM This must be the same guy who wrote that in Phoenix you shouldn't rent a car but use the bus system! At the time, the buses did not even run on Sunday! I can't imagine trying to get around Phoenix metro area using a bus! It is a sprawling city that requires a lot of travel and taking a bus would take HOURS! From Mesa to the airport by bus takes 1 1/2 hours! It takes 15 minutes by car. Seriously, where do people come up with this stuff?

Jul 16th 2011 5:49PM We too got lost in DC and ended up in the slums....I have been to the projects in Chicago and I thought that was bad....DC was hell. I have never been so nervous in my entire life, I just could not believe that we were in the capitol!! I agree it was an experience that I will never ever forget. The worst of it was I was on my honeymoon and my husband had booked us a hotel that was in a VERY bad part of town (not as bad as the slums, but pretty darn close). We ended up staying in Alexandria. Needless to say he never booked our hotel for vacations after that.

Name My (Sweet) Ride for a Chance to Win a HP Veer phone {Gadling}

Jun 15th 2011 5:47AM I had a taupe (brown) Plymouth Grand Voyager named Marge. I have a Chevy Blazer that got t-boned on the passenger side (yes, we bought it that way....a little side project to do on the weekends)...named Bender...and a little Chevy Caviler called the hot rod, which is a joke in of itself.

Poll: Should Tim Burton Journey to 'Oz'? {Scifi Squad}

Mar 13th 2010 7:47AM I just can't imagine a good remake of the "Wizard of OZ" I think if they did one it would have to be above and beyond perfect. I did enjoy SyFy's version "Tin Man". The story was excellent and the casting was great. They did not try to remake it but continued the story. I just can't figure out what else can be done with it. I am not sure if musicals are still "in", it seems the Disney channel has jumped off that bandwagon, they are making a new Camp Rock but I think people are getting tired of musicals, they had a good run, but I think it is over.
Burton does have a very unique take on things, and I wonder who Depp would play, Tin Man-no, Scarecrow-maybe, Cowardly Lion-maybe, the wiz-no. Who would play Dorthy? I realy like Zooey Deschanel's portrail of Dorthy's granddaughter "DG".
