Dec 13th 2011 5:42PM I completely agree! I took a road trip myself this fall to visit a friend. About to leave for my way home, she offered me her GPS, as I would be taking a different route home. And then rescinded the offer because she needed it to get around the town she lives in! I made do with a four-year-old Rand McNally atlas and a quick call to a friend when I couldn't find an exit. Long live paper maps!
Sep 29th 2011 6:56PM I'd just buy a regular hiking shirt and and $10 bottle of permethrin. Much cheaper than an $88 shirt!
Sep 21st 2011 8:44PM They're actually peddling Travelocity, and often have inane tasks that involve the Travelocity Roaming Gnome.
Those tasks aside, TAR is one of my favorite shows because it incites a wanderlust in me to go and take the time to explore those places they briefly touch on. That and I could listen to Phil Keoghan's kiwi accent all day!
Apr 19th 2011 10:12PM I dislike the commercial. The parody of TSA agents is way over the top. Going through the airport on a weekly basis I know that agents are simply doing their job trying to keep me and everyone else safe. I've been patted down on occasion, but agents have been respectful. The idea that the TSA grope this man, and yet his chainsaw passes through is ridiculous. I think people need to get over this obsession with the TSA.
Feb 2nd 2011 4:49PM I used to work in a hotel and loved everything that people left behind. After a couple of months in a storage closet, we were allowed to take things. I got all kinds of good loot!
Jan 5th 2011 1:01AM @Grant: Not exactly. Westin lends the shoes/apparel, but you'll have to give it back. I imagine should you take it, a la hotel robes, etc., you would be charged for it. I really like the idea of workout information in the rooms though! http://www.westinnewbalance.com/gear-lending.html
Sep 3rd 2010 12:06AM Devil's Lake State Park in Wisconsin!
Aug 9th 2010 6:05PM This book sounds fun!
