Jun 10th 2010 12:34PM I am a grandparent and have flown my granddaughter, age 8, from Orlando to Buffalo. I always use Southwest as they are very attentive and gave her goodies to entertain her. It involved no layovers and their treatment of her was exceptional.
As for the people (especially those with no children) critizing the others with children, some people can't afford to fly with them, and it would be a shame to miss a summer with Grandma. They are in more danger walking to the park than flying on a plane.

I did because I was enthralled with her self love and greed. The fact is that more of us voted last night and she got the boot. How is she going to re-invent herself next time?

Mar 9th 2010 12:13AM Tom, I don't get it. First you quote a California study on second hand smoking, then you say the other studies have agendas. What about the world wide studies from other countries, for instance Japan. Japanese women have the highest rate of lung cancer in the world, from second hand smoke (i.e. their husbands) who are type A driven men in their work. When they smoke, they have filters. The wives do not. This is fact. But I am wasting my time. You know it all. Most of the people that have responded are in favor of smoking and deny the horrible effects of smoking. Surely you have read what the medical research is, but you don't give a rat's ass because you can't kick it. Addiction, pure and simple. So YOUR agenda is to force it on other people. Listen, if you have a basement, turn it into a cigar bar. That way you can have the toxins all to yourself. Live and let die.

Mar 8th 2010 10:36PM Tom, have you read the amazing amount of scientific research on the effects of second hand smoke? If you did, you would not be commenting. You sound like a person that is so selfish in his addiction, that to hell with everyone else. The first hand effect is so horrible in itself. I lost beloved parents too early because of their addiction. My health suffers and I am on oxygen every night due to exposure from a lifetime of second hand smoke. Sinus problems go hand in hand. I should not have to medicate myself when I sit next to someone who smells like a human ashtray. Believe me smokers do stink.
You have probably tried many times to quit and failed. You have caved in and now sound aggressive to non smokers. Just exactly why are there so many laws against smoking now? If you want to kill yourself, fine, but don't drag me and others with you. Read the research and STFU.

Jan 28th 2009 1:08PM This is not about the homeless. It is about tourism. Who gives them the right to move the homeless? I lived in Honolulu during the sixties,had my first child there, and it was touristy then. Now, Waikiki rolls up the sidewalks after ten and the night people take over. There is also a "one drop" policy to determine who is truly Hawaiian. What a joke! There are so many intermixed races there,since hundreds of years ago. The last time I heard about a one drop policy was in the deep south to determine if someone was black. Reverse racism. As for our troops, the favorite food of Hawaii is Spam. Our soldiers gave it to them. Since they want to move the homeless, why not all the crack and meth heads, prostitutes, etc, that you see on "The Bounty Hunter."
Hawaiians are too full of themselves. They are first and foremost Americans.They must remember this and take care of their people. Not just the rich tourists.

As a retired educator, I can say that I have never seen such venom heaped upon one another than from blacks. I always intervened and did whatever I could to introduce these young people of color to each other as human beings. It seemed to have worked in my classes. I graduated in (their eyes), as a "saggy-tittied white cracker" into a lovable art teacher whom they adored.
The hip-hop artists, the Al Sharptons( remember Tuwana Brawly and the six police officers whose careers were almost crushed?) and other panderers of hate like Jesse Jackson? PURE AND SIMPLE DOUBLE STANDARD.Imus has become a whipping boy of a frothing media machine led by the Sharp man. Didn't Tuwana Brawly scrAwl "NIGGER" in her own feces to implicate the innocent police officers?
Read the book, "The Bonfire of the Vanities." by Thomas Wolfe. It aludes to some of this "new-speak" smear-fest by anyone with a politically correct agenda, like Al Sharpton. That Strom Thurmond relative,(I'm waiting for the DNA) really wants a position in the White House.Hey Al,with the instigating you instill, and the mindless self-promoting tripe you hand out,rest assured, they still have butlers in the White House. You KNOW the other poliltically incorrect term that refers to. It begins with "House" and ends with the "n" word.

I agree that if you have to "get gigitiy wit it" in an airplane a mile high in the sky,then your self esteem suffers from a rot from within. This rot is infecting our society in ways that only history will be able to describe. Who in the hell wants to sit on a toliet after two "behinds" have been rutting like the piglets they are? Our media is filled with anorexic sixteen year old models. You are a real woman that has probably birthed his children. Insist on romantic treatment or cut him off. A peanut butter sandwich eaten over a sink will teach him. Women probably snicker at his work at his lame pick up tactics. You gussy up, eat nice meals without him and wink at men in his presence. There are so many men that would love a voluptous woman to cuddle up with rather a a bunch of dry little twigs that are mal nourished.This is for #12 or anyone else.
