Jul 5th 2011 9:44PM My best friend, with whom I already have a long-distance relationship - she wouldn't even notice (except for the part where the background would be drastically different. Oops?)!
Jun 17th 2010 1:59PM After so many midnight release parties (books AND movies), it's a pleasure to be able to stay up to midnight in anticipation of yet another bit of the Harry Potter world. I grew up with Harry Potter (just a year or two older at the start), and it's terrific to know I don't have to give up new adventures in the HP world just yet!
May 7th 2010 11:28AM The pool. Definitely the pool.
It's a childhood memory thing. My home had a pool in the backyard, and some of my best summers revolve around the time spent swimming. I don't have access to a pool anymore, and so I look forward to staying at a hotel simply for this little luxury and a little nostalgia.
Apr 19th 2010 2:55PM Yes, PLEASE!
I was just thinking the other day, while I was down at the gym doing my run on the treadmill: the gym is almost always full. There are many stationary bikes and elliptical machines. People use them! Quite frequently! And vigorously! And yet all that energy is wasted, put into wearing down the ball bearings and whatnots that make the machine move.
Why -aren't- we doing more to use this energy? Even if it's not enough to power anything, there has got to be some way to store the energy or charge even the TVs and lights in the room with the machines. I suspect, though, that on a large scale it could make quite the difference. I also suspect that if people knew their energy bill would go down if they simply hopped on a bike for 30-60 minutes every day, we'd be a lot more fit on the whole!
Apr 19th 2010 12:44PM I had been curious why lifestyle design blogs weren't giving away more VA/personal assistant prizes. What better way to introduce the aspiring to the concept!
I've really been appreciating Gadling for its take on current news and reviews in the world of travel and related paraphernalia, and the giveaways sure don't hurt. ;)
Apr 14th 2010 12:19PM I'm headed to Las Vegas for 5 days in June. I've been quite a few times, but I always love kicking back at the pool in the heat, and being able to escape the heat without missing out on any of the action -- all within a day's drive of home. This fall will be more exotic, and next summer too, but for now I'm all good with the simple American luxuries.
