Sure TW took things to an extreme but so do a lot of athletes, performers and entertainers. If you want role models go to church or the boy scouts, perhaps. and Pat, you prud, just still to writing about golf - we are not interested in your jealous judgements anyway

Mar 11th 2010 9:21PM Beck, along with Rush and 1,000 of others that pollute the TV and air waves in America have the right to say whatever they please. And listeners have the right to turn them off. What is troubling for me and indeed most Americans who have spent most of their lives outside of the country (in my case, Japan) is that we are letting personal convictions on political matters, race, etc., blind us to the fact that our beloved America is losing its place of influence and leadership in the world. We need seriously address the issues that matter for decades to come like education, manufacturing, poverty and yes, health care. I can't help but see similarities in the decline of the British Empire and that of the United States. Before we know it, large swaths of American heartland will be owned and operated by China, India and even Brazil.
