A Message From the AOL.com Team {Portalblog}
Dec 21st 2012 8:55AM When I was growing up middle/junior high schools and high schools had rifle teams and student cadets. We were taught weapon safety and discipline. None in my generation that I am aware of ever shot up a school or restaurant or office. Fully automatic weapons were available until banned in 1968 but the only ones who used them and still do are terrorists, drug gangs and other criminal elements who obtain them illegally. If we teach our young to respect guns they will not fear them. If we teach our young to respect others and respect authority they will act in a responsible manner. The children of the 60's and 70's who rioted and flouted authority, who made the use of drugs acceptable and who are now called parents, bear the blame for the unrest in society.
TripAdvisor Review Costs Hotel Employee His Job {Gadling}
Oct 14th 2012 9:37AM The hotel should have done more to investigate. The man was a bartender, The writer could well have been a digruntled drunk who took a dislike to the bartender. Too many companies listen to these uncorrobarated social media postings. Bullying does not only occur with young people, cowards post items anonymously knowing that so many are ready to believe the bad, not so much the good.
Hurricane Katrina Victims Outraged at Bus Tours Through Ravaged 9th Ward in New Orleans {AOL Real Estate}
Oct 6th 2012 9:41AM If the city taxes with the alleged purpose of using the money to 'help' the 9th district, they may see 105 of the funds. The community should get together, block off the access road and charge a toll, based on the number of persons on the bus. They could use residents on a rotating basis to 'man' the toll booth and pay them a small wage, that way the residents could participate in their revitalization and possibly bring some self pride to the community.
South Carolina Homeowner Says Facebook Photos Show Teens Broke Into Home, Threw Party {AOL Real Estate}
Oct 3rd 2012 5:27PM I totally agree with most of the commenters that thes delinquenys should be charged. However, I see no one addressing the statement by the father that he wants to remain anonymous to avoid embarrassing his son. The man is an idiot! The best lesson in the world to his son is that there are consequences for criminal behavior. If his son had a better class of friends this may not have happened.

Jul 24th 2011 8:17AM If you would take the train along with all the others who gripe about the plane and then say if trains were better they would ride, then the trains could start to make money. I ride the train as much as possible,, Amtrak has great seating, it is healthier because you can walk around, there is plenty of room for luggage the only real downside is the cost of food and drink but,surprise, you can carry food and drink with you.
