Feb 5th 2010 9:15PM Jay didn't die on that wave. He grabbed his second board from the boat and paddles back out. He died when he had a shallow water blackout while free diving.

Feb 5th 2010 9:13PM From some one who has been surfing for most of my life, don't do things like this. It doesn't come off well. Especially when one of the videos - video six - shows a surfer who passed away not long ago. Jay Moriarty Died a few years ago in a shallow water blackout while free diving and deserves a little more respect than this feature gives him.
I know the obsession with surf and I'm sure you had the best intentions. And they're fun. But when you come off sounding like someone who hasn't even seen the ocean it tends to push people like myself away.
Ah what do I know.
