New series: Our past in peril, Greek tourism faces the economic crisis {Gadling}
Jan 30th 2012 12:57PM I visited Greece Aug-Sept, nearing the end of the tourist season, it was wonderful in many ways, one was this was birthplace of my parents, the other obvious one is the history and art. Just standing at the Acropolis the history was radiating under my feet. The new museum brings so much to life (even missing the obvious), you enter over continuing excavations. Everyone said "you don't want to visit Athens". Yes you do! There is much to see and I cannot imagine seeing other parts of Greece without seeing this city. I understand Athens has it's problems, but for the intro to a country I say go. The islands are magical and the star ferry girl was correct, you cannot miss Santorini! I hope to return to see more islands and other parts of Greece. Tourism is there GNP!

Cockpit Chronicles: Boeing vs Boeing. Pilots weigh in on the flight qualities of each type {Gadling}
Oct 3rd 2011 3:56PM Love the video. As a passenger I will always love the 747, flew back from Hawaii on a 777, got to say it was a complete pleasure, what a plane. Just took a trip to Greece on an airbus, nice but prefer the 777. Thank you for keeping us informed.
Cockpit Chronicles: A 'new' pilot's first trip on the line {Gadling}
Sep 8th 2011 6:35PM You are an awesome person and how lucky this guy was to have you for his first trip. Love reading your chronicles, they have made me a more appreciative passenger. I was hoping you were flying my flight from Boston to LA last Monday, the last leg of my first trip to Greece via Madrid.
What to pack in a carry on - ten things Gadling readers actually use {Gadling}
Dec 15th 2010 5:07PM Laptop (hoping to get a lighter weight one)
Camera, lenses, etc. (have had too many cords not arrive in my checked bags)
Money
A piece of clothing
Medication
Jewelry not expensive kind
Book
Very small clutch bag for $$$, passport & passes
I switched to a Computer bag after gate attendant said my small carry on did not comply and it needed to be specifically a "computer bag". Mind you, this bag was holding my computer and I had no purse. So now it is difficult to fit this in my "Lady Computer Bag" (I do). I know it is a lot, but I hate replacing a cord or card reader when abroad.
I would like to whittle it down because is heavy, but until then I will persevere.
Don't grab the seat in front of you - Airplane tip {Gadling}
Nov 28th 2010 7:00PM Oh really, how about the person in front of you who has a bulkhead seat and reclines all the way back? There is no room to exit without that "grab hold" and they complain. They have to know, otherwise they would not have gotten the bulkhead seat.

Galley Gossip: Captain A-rod and the cat lady from hell! {Gadling}
May 21st 2010 1:38PM Thank you for the heads up regarding what it takes to get aloft. I guess I won't be snatching my daughters new kitty (tempting he is so cute) for my trip back from Hawaii next week, but I will be speedy getting settled on the plane!
