There are an amazing number of fools out there who persist in believing that "primitive people" [ie: non-white] could not possibly have produced anything significant in past times - and therefore significant sites "must have been" produced by superior, alien beings;

and,
these fools also persist in believing that "undeveloped" [ie: non-white] present-day people could not possibly have valid insight into their own past history - such as Peruvian interpretations of the significance of various sections of Machu Picchu; and Egyptian interpretations of the many archaeological sites in Egypt.
