Nov 19th 2010 7:21PM B-737's have a windshield made of 5 layers. The first the outside is glass to keep the windshield wipers from scratching the next Acrylic layer as the next 4 layers are made of, The pressure inside the airplane would keep positive pressure on the inside of the windshield if pressured. The crack was most likely caused by a bad windshield heat controller because the windshields are heated to make the glass layer flexible. Why a glass layer? The B-737 has windshield wiper and they would eat the Acrylic up in time. This no BIG DEAL with 4 more layers to back up the non-essential glass layer. This was always treated as a abnormal configuration in the Boeing flight manual but I guess the world needs heroes.

Jun 1st 2010 5:07PM The South didn't try to destroy anything. They were exercising States Rights under the constitution like Arizona today. The problem was greedy Northerner's who wanted the South's products as cheap as they could get them to sell. When the South wanted to sell direct to Europe to North blocked the Southern harbors and shot Southern boats out of the water that were trying to bypass them. Slavery didn't seem to bother the North up to then. Learn your history Boy!
