Babies and first class: why is this an issue? {Gadling}

Mar 13th 2012 12:31PM I would be willing to pay extra to be on a guaranteed child-free flight...Why don't they try offering a few of those and see if they're cost-effective?

Should You Give Up Alcohol When You Hit 45? {That's Fit}

Jun 25th 2011 11:41PM Eat a perfectly healthy diet, shun alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, and chocolate. Exercise hours a day, and always practice safe sex. You'll live a long time...or maybe it'll just seem long!

Pear-Shaped Women: What to Wear for Spring {Stylelist (Main)}

Mar 18th 2011 12:10PM You are an apple shape. This is the exact opposite of the shape (pear) being discussed here, so advice from this article would be very wrong for you!

Pear-Shaped Women: What to Wear for Spring {Stylelist (Main)}

Mar 18th 2011 11:47AM There are TONS of articles on how to dress if you're a pear shape! How about an article for those with apple shapes?

Princess, Holland America Drop Cruises to Mazatlan {AOL Travel News}

Mar 15th 2011 3:41AM While the violence is definitely getting worse here in Mazatlan, the U.S. media makes in seem far worse than it is. Even in this article, it mentions, "...the shooting of a Canadian tourist." Makes you think someone aimed a gun at, shot and killed a Canadian tourist, doesn't it? The Canadian tourist caught a stray bullet in the leg, is fine now, and plans to return to Mazatlan again! While this is bad enough, it isn't nearly as bad as the article would lead you to believe. No American or Canadian tourists have been killed in Mazatlan in over 10 years! Can you say the same for your own city? We love Mazatlan and feel as safe here as we would any U.S. city of the same size. It is a beautiful place with wonderful people, and we are greatly saddened to lose these valuable tourists! The government is doing everything they can to make it safer, but this drug cartel issue is complicated.

More cruise lines cancel calls to Mazatlan after shooting {Gadling}

Feb 28th 2011 2:35AM Norwegian Cruise Lines has reinstated Mazatlán as a port of call.

My husband and I have lived in Mazatlán for a few years, and we absolutely love it! I wish the media would not sensationalize everything. We feel as safe here as we did in the states.

The problem with the drug cartels has worsened in the past few years, but the police are doing everything they can. It is harder to get a handle on than you might think. But the odds of getting injured or killed in a shooting here is very, very slim. None of us "gringos" who live here can remember a tourist ever getting killed who wasn't involved in the drug trade.

And there is plenty to do here! Our historic central district looks like the French Quarter in New Orleans... It's beautiful, with lots of plazas, parks and museums. We have Carnaval (next week!) and a Motorcycle Week. You can zip-line, go four-wheeling, ride horses, swim, walk or bike our beautiful boardwalk, take a tour-boat ride out by the islands to see sea-lions, dolphins, and whales. There are TONS of great restaurants and nightclubs.

Those of you who are skipping Mazatlán are missing out!

Attacks in Mexico Cause Cruise Lines to Drop Port {AOL Travel News}

Jan 27th 2011 6:40PM Please don't let all this negative publicity overly distress you! My husband and I LIVE in Mazatlán. I've been here for 2 years, and my husband for over 3 years. While we are sensible people, don't flash lots of money or expensive jewelry (easy--don't have it!), we go about our daily lives and feel as safe as anywhere. Mazatlán is a wonderful and beautiful city with great beaches and a seawalk as well as a picturesque historic zone. You will love it too! The U.S. wants to keep their tourism dollars in the U.S., they WANT you to be afraid!

Five Biggest Mistakes Retirees Make {WalletPop}

Jan 9th 2011 4:02PM Yada has the right idea. My husband and I have retired to Mexico, and I've never been happier or more content! My life is simpler, and we live very nicely on our Social Security. Not sure about Panama, but Mexico has a national health care system that "gringos" can enroll in, if they are in reasonable health without any major pre-existing conditions.

5 Ways to Look Festive This Season {Stylelist (Main)}

Dec 23rd 2010 1:49PM A party with this snob wouldn't be one I'd want to go to! BOORRRIIINNG!!! While I remember and respect the true "reason for the season," the "Santa Claus" part of Christmas is kitschy and tacky and fun! Who really wants the high-brow monochrome tree and a professionally decorated house? Here's to everyone with multicolored lights, knitted ornaments, icicles, and holiday sweaters! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
