Oudin-Serena Final Would Be Love American Style {Fanhouse Tennis}
Sep 8th 2009 9:38PM This is the first time I have ever even thought about race being an issue with the Venus sisters. I can see perfectly well, and definitely knew that they have darker skin than I do. But, I never thought about them being 'black' and playing tennis. I paid attention to the fact that they have tremendous self esteem, and that they are absolutely beautiful women that are chasing their dreams.....and winning. Why does race have to come up at all? I understand that to overcome it we need to talk about it....but honestly, it is exciting to see a new kid on the scene, no matter what race she is. Racial tensions hurt us all, no matter what color we are.
Dad Tries to Stimulate Lactation in Hopes of Breast-Feeding Future Babies {ParentDish}
Sep 4th 2009 6:01PM There are naturally occurring instances of male lactation in nature. Male goats have spontaneously sprouted udders and lactated, even when they are fully intact males. There is a Cat in europpe that is nursing a litter of kittens spontaneously, and he is genetically male. And, there are instances of male lactation in ancient history. If he can do it naturally with no chemicals or drugs then it is perfectly fine. There is a tribe in South Africa that regularly has male members breast feeding their babies...whether they lactate or not is questionable, but it calms the babies. Go to google and type in 'male lactation' and you will find a bunch of stuff on it.
Should Paralyzed Vet Get a Free (Amusement Park) Ride? {Asylum}
Jun 19th 2009 2:33PM Wow, I'm glad I fought and am a 60% disabled vet so that people like you can have an opinion. If I went to the park I would expect to pay, because I can still ride rides, because my disability is my foot and knee. However, a man that basically sacrificed his whole life, not just the time he spent in the military wants to go watch his family have fun, and he has to pay? That is a disgrace and an outrage. He is in no way in the same league as grandparents who make the choice not to ride rides (I do agree there should be a non-rider fee, one person mentioned that, it would be great for the grandparents)...All gave some, some gave ALL. He gave 99%, and they want to make him pay for the little bit of joy that he can have! Pathetic....and you are pathetic for agreeing. UGH!
Calvin Klein Continues to Turn Up the Heat - This Time with a Scantily Clad Eva Mendes {Stylelist}
Jun 18th 2009 9:18PM I think they are hot, and Americans need to stop being so prude. When you make it a big deal it becomes a big deal. If you don't like it, don't look at it. If you don't want to explain things to your kids....then you shouldn't have kids. You can't shelter them forever, you may as well get it over with and explain the birds and bees to them or some kid will do it for you.
I'm 33, have a respectable job, with 2 kids, and I think they are hot! Oh, and by the way, my kids have been driven right by ads like this, and they don't even think twice about it. They are too young to notice...so it's the uptight prude parents that cause the problems, not the kids.
Story Behind the Song: 'Sissy's Song,' Alan Jackson {The Boot}
Apr 24th 2009 2:09AM Lovely song....what a beautiful gesture and loving tribute. Alan Jackson has always been one of my favorites....and this song was no different. What I love about him is that there has never been drama... just the music, an appreciation for his fans, and a realness that you don't see with stars a lot of the time. I hope that the family can deal with her loss, and their hearts start the healing process.
Mom Hosts Vodka Chugging Party for Teens {ParentDish}
Apr 3rd 2009 10:02AM You are right...I hear parents say that all of the time. And agree that these women should have to pay restitution for their crimes...in other words, yes they should go to jail. However, I think that when we as a society make something taboo, we make it even more desirable. I personally would let my kid at 14 or 15 have a glass of wine, or some beer, but not enough to get drunk and passed out. I'm talking about 4 ounces of wine, or maybe some beer in a glass. Mainly to taste it and see that it is really nothing special, and to monitor their reaction. My parents did that with me, and I have never been a big binge drinker...I may have some wine with dinner, or a good beer once in a while. As for drinking until I am near death, I am not a fan. I contribute that to my parents showing me the responsible way to drink....by their actions when they drank, and by letting me see that there is no big secret there at an early age.I think that doing that in moderation is a good idea, but binge drinking at that age is so bad for their health and their mental stability. I believe that these women and many like them glamorize alcohol and make it more desirable....this is a sad story. I hope those 2 girls are ok.
Tunisian pilot who prayed while crash landing a plane gets 10 years in jail {Gadling}
Mar 29th 2009 3:39AM Ummm...I believe Hitler was not a Christian....in fact he thought that it was the Jews fault that Christianity came about....look it up. I do NOT agree with anything that Hitler said, he was a mad man...
Crocs auditor raises a red flag {BloggingStocks}
Mar 19th 2009 9:07PM I have had injuries to my feet and knees and I can not walk in most tennis shoes for an extended time. I can walk all day in my Crocs...I have some of the Mary Jane type ones, the regular style, and the sandal type with the open toe. I love Crocs, and yes the original style is ugly...but it would be uglier to not be able to walk. And, Crocs are anti-microbial, when my feet sweat it doesn't bother me in them like it does in other shoes. To me $30 is a small price to pay for being on my feet....look what some people pay for Doc Martens, Boots, and many other brands of shoes. My Crocs are still my favorite!
Facebook Admits Defeat, Retracts Terms of Service {Switched}
Feb 19th 2009 12:30PM I found a lot of people that I have not seen for years on Facebook...so I have the profile just to keep up with them. Personally I don't care for Facebook....I like Myspace. I can cusomize it better, on Facebook everything is all institutional and the same, there is no personality. So, both have their pluses...but I gravitate toward myspace.
Dolly Defends Jessica on Weighty Issue {The Boot}
Feb 15th 2009 1:06PM I peronally can't stand her....but she is a lot nicer looking with some curves. She looks like a real woman! The camera adds 10 lbs to you, so in person she is probably stunning....and before looked like a waif.
I am starting to like her a little more here recently...I just think she doesn't have a lot of talent and got where she is because she is pretty and got notoriety for being dumb....buffalo wings, anyone?
