Dec 21st 2012 6:20AM These events are carefully planned to occur where no one else is armed. They are NOT spontaneous. If there were no guns they would still happen - 20 children in China were stabbed on the same day as the Newton shootings. That was the fourth such event (no guns) in China in a short period.
It stems from the fact that in a large population there in a percentage of the criminally insane.
The answer is not fewer guns - that makes it easier. The answer is arming virtually everyone. Some people will still try to do these acts, but fewer people are likely to be injured if the perpetrator is dispatched quickly.
Jan 25th 2012 6:59AM No, this would not be worth $50 to me, or ten cents. I would go on a cruise to relax and enjoy myself, not to spend time watching every step lest someone disapprove and ruin my trip.
Let those who are afraid of everything stay home.
Feb 23rd 2011 9:35PM I wouldn't watch without Charley. The program would just be a gayer version of itself. I know network execs. are not the brightest, but - if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Feb 5th 2011 10:34PM Seems like a lot of guys from the NFL management writing here - or just plain dumb guys? How many ou you can catch a pass, let alone play anything resembling pro football?. How many are six foot plus and around 250 and are quick?
Fact is the players take all the risks. Ever seen an old player try to climb stairs - it's pathetic. No concussions in the owners box. Owners are already rich and naturally want more. Players need to get enough out of their football years to last them the rest of their lives -not much work out there for people who can barely stand and can't remember what they had for lunch yesterday. Goodell is a puppet whose strings are held by the owners, how is he supposed to defend their indefensible positions. He is really irrelevant. Lets face it, if the owners were going to lose money there would be no lockout. Same with the players there would be no strike. Whichever comes first will show whos in the wrong.
Dec 31st 2010 12:11AM At last, comments that are not snide or nasty. Got to say that he deserves every one of the good things said about him. My wishes are with him and his family, truly has always been a class act.
Dec 17th 2010 2:06AM Where do you guys live - in a monastery or nunery? You see more skin that this at any beach.
Dec 16th 2010 5:07PM This group is obviously NOT about anything scientific and not in the public interest. It is about manipulating the law so that it can get its desired social changes accomplished - read that s__tting on the rest of us!
Dec 3rd 2010 8:29PM What a loaded question. Much like "when did you stop beating your wife.
What a loaded question - something like "when did you stop beating your wife.
There are good rules, with good reasons to be obeyed. There are bad rules - which are largely politically inspired at the behest of some special interest. There are stupid rules, like this one, which have no real rhyme or reason and which only the stupid say "all rules are rules and therefore should obeyed. Kind of like my mother would say: if they made a rule that everyone should jump off of a cliff would you jump".
Dec 3rd 2010 8:21PM What about the shirts "in poor taste" that were confiscated? When did Clevelabd suspend the laws on freedon of speech? I guess their security and police are not subject to our laws anymore,
Nov 16th 2010 10:02PM Don't want a football team here, don't know anyone who does. The era of live sports is passing. The era of hi-def sports TV is here. You can see it better on a big screen in your living room.We get more and better games now without a team, a team would just mean blacked out games - they wouldn't sell out any more than the previous teams did.
