My Three Most Favorite Kitchen Gadgets {Shopping Articles Blog}

Oct 17th 2011 12:51AM I have one of those ground beef crumblers. I got it at Cookin Cowgirl in Breckenridge, CO in 2001. I use it a lot. The woman that owns Cookin Cowgirl told me that a stay at home Dad who also did all the family's cooking invented it to make breaking up ground beef easier. Don't know if that's true, but it's a neat tool.

Vote: Which 'Bachelor' Breakup Story Do You Believe? {PopEater}

Jun 23rd 2010 10:29PM Those Bachelor/Bachelotette shows are SCRIPTED reality shows. The producers decided that having Ali leave to go back to Facebook was a ploy for more viewers. Facebook never gave her an ultimatum. She's also not going back to Jake. The reason he was chosen to be the Bachelor was that he had a gimmick: Wings of Love. Jake and Vienna were getting it on everywhere they could during the filming of the Bachelor. That's how she hooked him, with her body. She put it out and he took it every chance he got. But, he grew tired of Vienna's constant whining for excitement. She wanted to be the center of attention always. Now she wants to be on The Bachelor Pad, but it's already been cast. She'll do anything for the spotlight. Jake just wasn't partying enough for her, but he is not gay!!

Galley Gossip: The Bachelor - airline employees, spouses & why Vienna is perfect for Jake {Gadling}

Feb 17th 2010 6:32PM This isn't a real "reality" show. It's almost entirely scripted. It's a ratings getter for ABC and they manipulate the show just as if it were a sitcom or another series show. Ali's "call" to Jake asking to return to him and try again didn't come from San Franciso; she was wearing a La Montrose robe in a hotel room in LA, and the bridge in the background was probably the Bay Bridge against a "green screen". And, if you watched carefully, when Jake was washing his face as the phone rang, he had on blue shorts and no watch, but two seconds later when he answered the phone, he had jeans and a watch on. Magic quick change artist? Or scripted show? I wonder how many takes that involved? Jake is a limo company owner in Dallas for his full time job, and a pilot only occasionally, and mostly only privately.

Fast-Track Tragedy: Shame on Olympics {Fanhouse Olympics Blog}

Feb 13th 2010 12:23PM There are a lot of very dangerous sports in this world; extreme skiing, snowboarding, luge, football, NASCAR, horse racing, and others that have involved life threatening injuries or death. It's a risk the participants are well aware of and yet they choose to participate anyway. No athlete wants to die during competition or practice. Sometimes there are just tragic, unfortunate accidents; sudden deaths from causes unknown and diseases that sneak up on us. None of us are immune. But, if world competition stopped everytime an athlete died or was severely injured, the sports world would move very slowly. I don't believe the Candadiens are to blame, several overseers and regulators and inspectors also were involved in getting the run up and going. I don't think anyone here is to blame, anymore than anyone was to blame in the death of Dale Earnhardt. Freak accidents happen even in the best of circumstances. My heart goes out to Nodar's family and I hurt for them, but he died doing what he loved, whether he was qualified or not, whether the track was not up to snuff or not, I believe he was happy to be in Vancouver, happy to be on his sled and happy to be sliding, and I don't believe he would have wanted the competition or the opening ceremonies postponed for him. As a true athlete, he would have wanted the competition to go on as planned and would have been one of the first to say, "Let the games begin!" Athletes are like that.

My Mother Hates My Baby Name {ParentDish}

Jan 16th 2010 8:34PM My name is unique and I've always hated it. My father's name was Lyman and he hated his. I think naming a child is too important to be taken lightly. My parents may have loved the name Marcy, but they saddled ME with it, not them, and I don't like it. It's too unusual that it make me feel old. The name has a hard sound to it, like Agnes, rather than a soft, gentle flow, and I think it gives people the impression that the hard sound of the name is reflected in the person's personality, which is not true. You also don't want your child to be the only one with that name, that makes them embarrassed and insecure when they're young. It did me, and it did my father.
