Organic Valley Accused of Violating Organic Egg Standards {Slashfood}
Apr 20th 2011 3:51PM dear farmer: i own horses and dogs and i can certainly appreciate "protecting" my animals from dangers. however, when folks ask where i keep my horses i don't claim disingenuously that they are allowed to roam the countryside at will; i explain that they are kept in large, grassy paddocks. the issue here isn't safety but rather veracity. going back to my original point arguably my child may be safer physically were i to keep him locked in a room with only an open, screened in window for "outdoor access" but, again, that's not the point. the point is truthfulness.
Organic Valley Accused of Violating Organic Egg Standards {Slashfood}
Apr 20th 2011 1:24PM so by those standards if i locked my kid in his room 24-7 with an open, screened-in window that would be considered year-round access to the outdoors?
Harry & David File for Bankruptcy {Slashfood}
Mar 28th 2011 7:01PM 10+ years ago I enrolled myself in their "Fruit of the Month" club -- thinking that if I paid $25 plus shipping and handling each month for six apples or pears I'd eat them come hell or high water. Well, I learned that I ate those $5 apiece apples at the same pace as the $3 for a 5 lb bag of apples from the local chain grocery store. That being said, the tissue paper packing was pretty!
The Great Veggie Burger Debate: Love Them or Hate Them? {That's Fit}
Mar 28th 2011 12:43PM I like the Morningstar Farms brand veggie burgers (all varieties, including "chicken") but prefer the Boca brand "sausage link" to that of Morningstar. My experiences with the Garden Burger brand products have been, um, less than pleasant (their "portabella mushrooom burger" not only sickened me but also my dogs and my neighbor's dog) and the Amy's brand is a weak second to Garden Burger. Occasionally I find an off-brand (i.e., one with which I am not familiar) meatball, sausage or other meat alternative but I tend to stick with the brands I know. That being said, the absolute best (albeit too expensive) "faux" turkey breasts and burgers are from Quorn. I'm not being paid to advertise but do give www.vegecyber.com a chance -- they offer, among other things, SEAFOOD options!!!
10 Ways You Can Become More Psychic {MyDaily}
Mar 19th 2011 11:16AM my deceased relatives (particularly my brother and father) come to me regularly -- visiting me as i sleep and providing information that only they know and that otherwise shock the bejesus out of me when i learn what of which they speak is in fact reality. this has been going on for nearly 10 years. that being said, i am concerned about trying intentionally to "tap in" to them and/or engage a medium. my thought is, hey, if they want to come to me, great. if they don't, i don't want to bother them. also, i worry about opening myself up to "bad" influences -- not necessarily demons but just unpleasant visitations. any suggestions other than asking God to bless and protect me?

British tour company criticized for offering 'Hitler tour' around Germany {Gadling}
Jan 11th 2011 10:44AM history is history -- the good, the bad and the ugly. shall we also castigate the history channel, pbs and other networks for offering us "up close and personal" insights into mass murderers such as hitler and stalin, or serial murderers such as charles manson and ted bundy? presumably, the tour at issue constitutes conferring information -- not condoning specific acts or ideals. that being said, i'd find this "tour" promotion utterly tasteless were it being offered in/by israel ....
