Nov 23rd 2011 8:27PM The new Boeing 787 is advertised to have more room for passengers. Their seating arrangement would be slightly wider seats. The "normal" seating arrangement would be three across in the center section. Warning- Continental is going against Boeing's seating plan and will have narrower seats installed and make the center section four seats across. This has Boeing rather upset but there is nothing they can do about it. If that is how the customer (Continental airlines) wants the seats installed, there is nothing they can do about it. They are also keeping the same cramped 32" seat pitch. (distance between you and seat in front of you) Hint: Delta will NOT do this.
In the past I've always tried to fly Cont'l. but looks like I'm switching to Delta.
Boeing has also recognized the danger of flying in cramped seat (Deep Vein Thrombosis) . This are blood clots that will move into your lungs. It happens all the time but airlines won't warn passengers for fear they might frighten them. A good friend died several years ago because of blood clots that form in your leg (due to pressure on vein in back of leg) then move into your lungs. A few times it's happened in airport, but mostly several days after you get home. I speak from personal experience and spending week in hospital.
