Travel agents: The dinosaur you just might need {Gadling}

Mar 16th 2011 12:59PM I love this article!!!! Yes I am a home based Travel Agent/Consultant. for a Travel Agency in another town. I have been in travel for 22 years. We have been on 16 cruises & many land tours. I get groups together for cruises so I get better rates. I do not have an overhead because my home is paid for & that also saves my client money. I make sure all clients have all the information before they leave. Sometimes we escort the cruises. People trust me because I've been there done that. They can look at our videos & pictures of the same destinations they are going to & see the different tours offered.

I was actually surprised when I booked a cruise for someone (by calling it in to the cruise lines direct), I save them $134.00 each. I also got them an upgrade of 2 decks because they had cruised with that company before. That's about a total of $750.00 savings!!!!!! I guess I am old fashioned, but I don't book over the net. I call all my bookings straight into the company. I can find out that way if there are any special discounts being offer, senior rates or past guest discounts. I have seldom ever had any trouble doing the personal booking that way, and if I do, I know who to find to correct it.

AGAIN, THAT YOU FOR THE GREAT WRITE UP.

Forgot your passport? Here's a way out! {Gadling}

May 25th 2010 3:12PM YOU CAN SCAN YOUR PASSPORT INTO THE INTERNET. ALWAYS KNOWING THAT COULD BRING FUTURE PROBLEMS. BUT YOU CAN PRINT IT OUT AT THE AIRPORT--SOMEWHERE??? FOR THEM. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTED IN SOME COUNTRIES. FIND OUT BEFORE YOU GO. BUT EVERYONE FORGETS SOME THING NOT MATTER HOW MUCH YOU TRAVEL. IF YOU CAN AFFORD TO GET IT ANOTHER WAY---GOOD FOR YOU--AT LEAST YOU HAVE A PASSPORT---GOOD HEAVENS YOU MUST BE LEGAL--LOL

ABC Forgets 'The Forgotten' {Inside TV Blog}

Mar 3rd 2010 2:57PM I REALLY LIKE THIS SHOW. IT HAS SOMETHING TO SAY. IT SPEAKS FOR THE DEAD WHO ALSO NEED CLOSURE TO GO ALONG WITH THE LIVING. SHOWS DON'T ALWAYS HAVE TO BE "SPICY". I WATCH IT EVERY WEEK. I WILL BE VERY SORRY TO SEE IT GO. MAYBE THEY CAN PUT ANOTHER SITCOM OR STUPID HUMAN SHOW IN ITS PLACE. DUMB!!!!!

Marie Osmond's Son Michael Blosil Commits Suicide {PopEater}

Ten tips to make your trip through the airport security checkpoint easier on everyone {Gadling}

Jan 30th 2010 2:32PM i have been a Travel Agent for 22 years specializing in cruises. I guess we have become a prisoner in our own country when it comes to traveling & security. Best thing is to contact security or the airlines you are flying with & make sure you have all the rules right. See if they will send you specific informaton. I always check for my clients. Also, I have a 'Packing & Things To Do Before You Go List' I give to all my clients. I tell them to use it before they travel & when they are are returning to make sure they got everything. It has taken years to put it together, but, with 9-11 & the weight & size factor, it has been revised several times. That's why booking with an agent that helps you plan your travel needs is the best way to go. Most of us keep up on what the airlines, security, cruise ships, etc. are expecting from travelers. I think that it is a real test to get through security at the airport & again, at the cruise terminal. --Then the fun finally begins for you --until you return & get to do it all over again. Please travel safely & listen to the people in charge including the airline ticketing personnel.---and definitely keep traveling!!!!

Walgreens Nationwide Offer Freshly Prepared Food {Slashfood}

Jan 20th 2010 1:54PM I LOVE SHOPPING AT WALGREENS. I HAVE A LOT OF PHOTOS DEVELOPED THERE BECAUSE THE PICTURES COME BACK OUTSTANDING. SOMETIMES THERE IS A LINE OR I HAVE TO WAIT A WHILE BECAUSE I USE AN OLD CAMERA WITH SPECIAL FILM THAT TAKES LONGER TO DO. I HAVE SUGGESTED TO THEM TO PUT SOME SMALL TABLES & CHAIRS & FRESH FOOD LIKE SANDWICHES YOU COULD BUY WHILE WAITING. THEY HAVE DRINKS, CHIPS, ETC. ALREADY. I ALWAYS BUY A DRINK & CHIPS OR A SNACK IF I WAIT. I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY WOULD FIT THE TABLES & CHAIRS IN WALGREENS---BUT THERE'S ALWAYS A WAY TO KEEP PAYING CSTOMERS HAPPY WHEN THEY ARE WAITING & SPENDING MONEY IN THE STORE. I SHOP AT WALGREENS ON RIVERDALE ROAD & 36TH STREET, OGDEN/RIVERDALE, UT. GREAT MANAGER WHO GOES OUT OF HER WAY TO FIND ITEMS FOR YOU & A GREAT CAMERA/PHOTO DEPARTMENT. THIS STORE IS NOT OPENED 24 HOURS.

THANK YOU

75 Reasons We (Still) Love Elvis -- Part Three {Spinner}

Jan 10th 2010 3:08PM Unfortunately, I did not get to see Elvis in concert. I always thought he would be there & I would see him someday. Never rely on that saying. I visited Graceland 2 years ago. It was as if he was still there & just on tour somewhere. I took my time walking thru with the escorted crowd, trying to be alone where you could. It was wonderful & quite a good feeling. There will never be another ELVIS!!! His voice was & is uncomparable to anyone. He lead his life as best he could--too many people controlling him wanting a piece of the action/money. Too bad he couldn't see thru those kinds of people--maybe he would still be here today. He was a good generous man. If you have not been to Graceland--you need to go there. Stay at the Heartbreak Hotel right across the street from Graceland & close to his museums. Perfect place for a perfect time. Where ever you are---TCB
