Colleges Test Kindle, Go Back to Real Books {Switched}

May 16th 2010 6:41PM What's wrong with grayscale? Most "normal" books are printed in grayscale to begin with -- why on earth would I want a colored, backlit device that's going to ruin by eyesight? A Kindle weighs less than a hardback book, and can fit into the pocket of a jacket ; a laptop, even a teensy netbook, can't do that.

I agree that a Kindle isn't ideal for certain things -- an art text, for example. But for reading text? What would I do with color anyway?

Colleges Test Kindle, Go Back to Real Books {Switched}

May 16th 2010 6:36PM That's why the Kindle has an e-ink screen -- the lack of backlight makes it a lot better for your eyes then trying to read on a typical screen.

The editor-in-chief giveaway: Win Ryan Block's gadgets {Engadget}

Aug 23rd 2008 11:32PM Huzzah! Gadgets totally rock socks. I'd definately keep the Sansa -- Sansa is my god of cheap MP3 players that stand up to the abuse I put them through. The PSP cable would go to someone with a PSP, and probably traded for favors. The WiFi card would be given to my mother, so that she stops moaning about how she has to string cable about the house and blah blah blah blah.

The PMP will be used to entertain non-sleeping children during naptime. =D

The editor-in-chief giveaway: Win Ryan Block's video games {Engadget}

Aug 23rd 2008 11:23PM I'd probably sell or give anything not XBOX or PC away. Probably sell -- I'm a poor college student working as a teacher, god knows I need the money!
