The rich couple could easily have gone a grade up without destroying a property; most homes that age are structurally sound.

Jan 23rd 2012 6:25PM Essentially she is far safer down the road at the home of a former Sunday School student this is clearly God's will. At her age and infirmity there is no doubt she cannot live alone and will not just fall but could starve to death, have fumes from faulty plumbing, heating, and potentially a fire from old electrical wiring. I am sure liability aside HUD has a heart in that they were going to allow her to continue her remaining time in the home but cannot for the clear term "unsanitary." That may mean infestation of cockroaches, rats, and the like.

Dec 1st 2011 5:48PM Indeed I agree entirely; my first husband and I raised 5 children (girls) 4 of which were less than two years apart--absolutely NOT we would have stood our ground to teach the children justice; sheriff or not. The utter extravagance of moving when you knew that only one payment was in default and again that you either had a cancelled check or some statement of the same would have been far more than taking me out of a home that the children are adjusted to. Further once you leave the home your liability remains; insurance (for floods, and what not including break ins which it sounds like they suffered), and likely the basement flooded when the plumbing froze from no heat or running water! I feel worse for the kiddos now for either they sell they home (in this market) for nothing and or get to work--they need to do the repairs on their own and perhaps the community has some volunteers (check churches and so forth) but ultimately you are correct Shannon well put!

Jul 8th 2011 11:40AM For once we are not hearing of a monetary battle. Do you believe she cleans her own mansion now? Ultimately it is giving the children who must transition what they already know and since they are living in wealth it is clear the parents are making as few changes as possible.
They are a nice couple he has done acting and a political place where he worked hard. I believe it is ridiculous to spend millions on media notoriety of those "who have" when they decide to divorce, re marry, and or have issues show up. They are an attractive couple. The child was not born yesterday. I am more amazed that marital counseling was not sought. They remind me of a more normal family not one prone to drugs, cheating in repetition and the like--however, it is up to the wife.
Ironically those huge mansions and wealth allow these infidelities to occur. Her hurt I would surmise would be in believing this was going on with the maid while he lay down with her all these years that it seems would be the catalyst for ending their union... Peace..

Jun 24th 2011 7:54PM This is ridiculous they should remove commentary. This is the second infestation of hate comment segments I've read. First on an actress now on a regular person who took all the negative in life and bypassed it. I am quite sure she did it all through God and turning her despair to hope. First she purchased an old 50 year home that needed significant work in that part of NM likely less than a rental payment people that's how; with her job she started to take empowerment financially and socially. She did not have money for trendy weight loss programs and a gym so in that wonderfully large backyard exercised by being a part of her children's play life and redoing and working on the home. It would not matter if she still looked overweight to some likely OBESE COMMENTARY here who has no right or reason to judge this woman did all the right things with little resources but inner and those that connected her with a power greater than herself. Her husband if a cheater likely got someone else pregnant in the southwest rarely do you see alimony checks and if he is paying child support it would not provide all she is doing for herself and those kiddos. Meaning she got a home dirt cheap, started losing weight with all the restoration, got a job at the college she went to finish her degree and turned her life around. She is beautiful inside and out and those who sit here on their doughnut filled jealousy rages need to take it elsewhere maybe in their own backyard!

Judging anything about any one person is a reflection of jealousy and self seeking within our own inadequate self. No one needs to look up her skirt she has great legs, who cares what matches this year some years you must wear mis match to match, and lack of make up with good skin and a lovely smile are miracles that we should be blessed to experience.
