Wrap Your Head Around This: Are Clampless Curling Irons Worth the Hype? {Stylelist (Main)}
Jun 6th 2011 3:56PM Good article. Offered suggestions I've never heard before, such as practicing with the styling wand cold.
Brooklyn Blizzard Found Photos Are Not Fake - Todd Bieber Proves It {Urlesque}
Jan 23rd 2011 3:48PM I'm not a hater, and I don't understand why this is even news (a guy finds film and doesn't know who took the photos...who cares). But I want to point something out.
The first article, about him finding the film says, "Bieber, being a man of adventure, developed the film himself,..."
In the second article, he's trying to prove to skeptics that he did find the film. His evidence? A receipt for film processing. How does someone who "developed the film himself" have a receipt for film processing????
13 Ways to Maximize Your Tax Deductions Before the End of the Year {WalletPop}
Dec 23rd 2010 8:10AM My thoughts exactly! What really struck me was the advice to pay more interest on your mortgage....who wrote this, a bank??? Yes, interest is deductible, but you wouldn't want to pay more of it just to get the deduction. And gamble more? Are you kidding me?
Anxiety Over Credit Scores Holds Back the U.S. Economy {WalletPop}
Dec 23rd 2010 8:01AM EXACTLY my thoughts when I read this article. I'm not an economist (is this writer?), but the main problem is that the high-paying jobs aren't here. If you make minimum wage (or even a few dollars more than that) it doesn't make a difference what your credit score is, you can only afford the necessities.
McDonald's Sued Over Happy Meal Toys {WalletPop}
Dec 16th 2010 11:10AM OMG!!! The kids' food gets cold while they play with the toys???!!! This mother doesn't need to file a lawsuit, she needs Supernanny to teach her some parenting skills!
For goshsakes make the kids wait until after they eat before they can have the toys! It's not that hard. OR, don't go to McD's to begin with.
When my daughter wants to go there and I don't, I just tell her no, and we eat somewhere else. Again, basic parenting skills.
I'm not defending McD's. The majority of those toys annoy the heck out of me, and don't get me started on what I think of McD's food, but some of the toys are fun and I hope McD's doesn't stop including them in meals.
'Undercover Boss' Don Fertman No Longer Subway Sandwich Virgin {AOL Jobs}
Nov 22nd 2010 4:00PM This show really annoys me. And this episode really got under my skin. I only watched about 10 minutes of it (just long enough to see manager girl Jessie?) but that was enough.
First, manager girl should be fired for being so rude to a new employee. There are a lot of older people doing jobs they are overqualified for right now. Is that how'd she is to them too? Give them 10 minutes to learn to make sandwich in 50 seconds, and if not, go back and do dishes?
Second, it doesn't surprise me that she was rewarded for her rudeness. Every time I go to Subway (which is rare), the employee treats the customer just like she treated the undercover boss.
10 Controversial Toys That Won't Be on This Year's Wish Lists {WalletPop}
Nov 20th 2010 12:42PM My teenage son suggested getting the BrickArms warrior guy and having him try to go through the Airport Security Playset. Of course, the warrior al quaeda guy would zip right through security while the security people are giving the full pat down/grope to the common tourist guy toy. Fun!
Cedar Point named best U.S. amusement park {Gadling}
Sep 13th 2010 8:49PM I hate to be snarky, but Cedar Point "napped the top spot"? Has the meaning of "napped" changed and I just haven't heard about it?
In any case, I think it's interesting that Disney parks only garnered one win.
Why Is 'The Bachelor' So White? {Inside TV Blog}
Jan 4th 2010 5:34PM Maybe only white people are dumb enough to want to be on these shows.
