FIA GT1 Championship goes global for 2010 {Autoblog}

Oct 30th 2009 7:14PM I am thinking more Mosport, since they run ALMS and other 'top-tier' series. Montreal might get it, if only to ensure that there are 2 races at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Tremblant would be great, but I don`t think the facilities are up to the task. Road access is poor, facilities (bathrooms) are poor. But it is a fantastic track and if you have a chance to go an see a weekend of vintage or Ferrari racing it is more than worth it.

The City of Montreal will only allow 2 races at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Previously the track was exclusively reserved for F1. Now that The Circus has skipped a year and is looking to skip another year, the race-organizers may be looking for a race just to act as a place holder, to ensure that they don't loose the second weekend of racing. I, for one would go see and FIA GT rather than watching a snore-fest NASCAR race. (The last NASCAR race was won at an average of 55 MPH / 88 KPH!)

Catching up with Chevrolet's 1,200-mile pre-production Volt fleet drive {Autoblog}

Oct 15th 2009 7:47PM I like how they didn't even bother to paint the bumpers. This way when they want to (re)sell them cars as 'new' cars all they will have to change is the bumpers.

Galley Gossip: Attention All Nippon Airway passengers, please empty your bladders now! {Gadling}

Oct 7th 2009 9:33AM This will just work out great! 200-400 people rushing to the closest loo is certainly not going to cause delays in getting passengers on board, creating pushback delays and then getting further delayed down the taxiway.

Add to that the environmental impact from people going to the washroom an extra time, as opposed to just holding it in. Think of all the gallons of water, forests of trees and all the chemicals in the soap being wasted. Then again, ANA might be able to stock their lav with 3 sheets less toilet paper because less people will use the loo.

This is green-washing at it's worse.

HD Theater to begin screening WRC in October 4 [w/VIDEO] {Autoblog}

Sep 22nd 2009 10:20AM I don't think it's available on Starchoice / Shaw Digital.

Couldn't you out put from an HD receiver to an SD TV?

edo competition converts Enzo into roadgoing 840 horsepower FXX Evolution {Autoblog}

Sep 18th 2009 8:58PM Does this mean that they will crash test one (or a few) to test for road-worthiness?

Dell Latitude Z series to include wireless charging? {Engadget}

Sep 18th 2009 11:04AM Why? So we can pay 200$ spare charging bases, instead of the constantly breaking PA-10 or PA-12 ? So we can't borrow someone else's PS? So we can irradiate our legs and other bits?

Somehow I can't imagine inductive charging to more efficient that regular charging, though I do understand that there is some induction going on inside the brick.

This is just a load of hooey!

Return of the Prix: F1 confirmed back in Canada for 2010 {Autoblog}

Sep 17th 2009 7:40AM The 75M$ might be a little understated. Remember the original reason was the promoter debt to FOM of 50-60M$. The 175M$ demanded last year included the payment of the debt. The 75M$ does not include the debt, which I can only guess FOM wants to get it's hands on.

This might be in the way of extra revenue from ticket and track activities going to FOM and not the organizer.

But still, I will take a race in my hometown any day of the week!

Salut Gilles!

Burned-out Hummer limo spotted during wildfires in California {Autoblog}

Sep 9th 2009 11:12PM This is a non-story, or at least not the story we are bening told we are being told.....

There is a clear semi circle burn imprint from about the middle of the frame. This is an arson trying to pose a an accident.

The surrounding trees are GREEN, forget not being burnt in the first place. Tires are up.

I call shenanigans! SHENANIGANS!!!!!

Do costly blind spot systems actually fix a problem that doesn't really exist? {Autoblog}

Aug 20th 2009 2:15PM No, these systems just further lobotomize drivers. If you don't have time to check your blind-spot then you have no time to change lane. If you absolutely have to change lane (accident avoidance) you are not going to check the blind-spot anyways, be it visually or virtually.
