Raytheon's pain gun finally gets deployed in Afghanistan (update: recalled) {Engadget}
Jul 18th 2010 3:27PM Has anyone notice that when Humans gather in groups for whatever reason their total value of Intelligence diminishes with each increase of group quantity? I would expect it to increase but the reverse happens instead?
Raytheon's pain gun finally gets deployed in Afghanistan (update: recalled) {Engadget}
Jul 18th 2010 3:21PM I hate to point out the Obvious?, But "no Brain no Pain", but then again worms feel pain? so the Hajji's are like worms in more ways than one? Its amazing what world we live in? I would have thought that in this age of technology that peaceful intentions would be more common? but it seems that technology is only used to amplify their ideology? What a waste of effort that technology brings too mankind to make life easier and give him the chance to evolve in to a better species of what he was? but like anything in life you can make the invention of the wheel to the benefit of mankind or the destruction of it?
Instead of talking about what other peaceful uses devices like this "Could" have? We are left to focus the deterrent value of it?
Just my Thoughts
Cowon adds 32GB model to J3 media player lineup {Engadget}
Jun 11th 2010 8:01PM The Best way to appreciate Cowan devices is to use one, so far everyone who has heard my old iAudio X5, compared to iPhone's (all), iTouch and similar devices, have always said one thing to me, WoW!,
even my nephew who is a Die Hard Apple guy, got very quiet when listening to the X5?, and his face said it all as he quietly said "Yeah sounds nice", and with all the Audio enhancements he was able to play with it became clear as to which was substantially better. I have a set of Home use old Stax SRS-2020 headphones and connected to X5 or iPhone the difference is dramatic!, if I put a cheap 99 cent headphones it will be very hard to tell difference other than the fact the iAudio X5 allows to adjust for the lack of quality of the headphones which is a plus! But anything Audio is subjective unless you are an Audio Engineer of which I was for the last 28 years! But in the real world most people pick the shiny mp3 player over the high quality but not so shiny audio player. But if you are giving a "True" review of a product it must rely on Facts only, and the subjective only as a secondary, otherwise it becomes useless when you are spending serious Monie$ on Audio Equipment.

gOS Cloud instant-on OS shown on video {Engadget}
Jan 25th 2009 6:29AM Stupidity come at 99% of the population being 99% has an I.Q. of 101 and below of that, 90% of the 99 has an I.Q. of 81 and below the key is "Below", so for examples sake I have to read 100 entries before I read one that might make any sense?
No wonder there is so many "Idiots" on these "Blogs"?
If only they were smart enough and had pride enough not to post their "Idiotic rants" for all to see? But then again, This post would only be 1/100th of the size? And the humorous part of all this is that 99 out of 100 think they belong in the 1%?
Now that is Funny!
Microsoft's "I'm a PC" ad gently alights upon the airwaves {Engadget}
Sep 19th 2008 1:37AM I have many PC's and one of them has been on since 1-11- 2006 09:50am has never been turned off, just blank screen saver and used daily, also have a Mac (Xmas-Gift-08) its ok, nice? But I grew up on Windows and sometimes it feels like driving on English roads, I always feel I am on the wrong side! It's just what you’re accustomed too.
By the way the PC that’s been on since 2006 has never crashed never frozen has 255GB full of stuff on hard drive. I think a “Computer” can only be as good as the user? They will never be able to make a computer "Dumb Proof?” That's why they break?
They say Mac's can't be frozen or broken, but then again they have not met my 14 year old nephew, he made my Mac freeze until I had to take battery out and after many tries I was able to resurrect it.
Both have the “Pros & Cons” but this club mentality is childish, mine is better than yours only refers to what time of day it is, There will always be something “Faster, Newer and Shinier” in the next hour of release, I have been using Personal computers since 1977 when they did not even have a pretty cover on it, I have seen it all, I update my hardware about every year and the ones I don’t want are given to my family. The ones that give me no or little trouble I keep.
When I laid eyes on the fist “Apple vs. PC” commercial it had an obvious arrogance to it, and for many Mac Fan’s it just amplified their personality, but to me it’s just a Thing, Machine, Tool or whatever you want to call an inanimate object.
But for some unjustified reason, many people treat it as it were “Human”. Queerly bizarre behavior would you not say?
I like the “Subtly” of the new PC commercial’s It’s like saying what I said above without saying it?
Typhoon Touch Technologies sues everyone for infringing touch computing patents {Engadget}
Jun 24th 2008 5:52PM I touch myself; if someone else has a patent on it does it mean I will get sued?
Just because someone thought of a vague idea and had it patented (is that a word?) is no reason to sue!, common sense if we all had it would dictate if you don’t use the idea in a set amount of time then you lose it?, seems fair I think? We live in a society that does illogical things all the time and this is no different.
The fix to this problem is an easy on which relies on logic, but of course because of that will never be fixed, call it “Human Nature” if you wish!
Maybe when evolution has a chance to weed out the lesser of the human species, this will all be no longer an issue.
Until then this will be one of many that will irritate those who can comprehend the illogical problem.

The Professor: GM's new old engine tech, moon mirrors, the dangers of space war debris {Engadget}
May 5th 2008 12:02PM In the beginning there was "Light"... Then "Dark", then "Light"..
You get the picture?
Anyway everything when first envisioned is primitive to some expectant degree, we have a variety of options to work with and implement across the different technologies. We have inefficient petrol powered generating stations that are highly in need of upgrading, there are probably many ways to increase the efficiency either by using the waste heat by thermoelectric peltier or other similar methods “Does Not Matter Take Your Pick Whichever Will Work The Best for the $”, We spend more time wasted putting ideas down than to just do simple mental prioritizing, If it does not seem doable then put it down the list, but don’t erase it from the list? Reminds me of the thinking when the “World was Flat”, I spent most of my life in the “Test Engineering Field” and one thing I learned early on was that there is no such thing as “Bad Data”, even when you get things wrong it serves a purpose? Ergo the motto “Bad Data is Good Data”, I see an abundance of ranting of one direction or another (Mine Included). If you all grasp around the philosophy I am trying to implement here then “We” as a Forum of Minds can be as “Efficient” as the subject were discussing? We all have some great hurdles to overcome when it comes to “Energy”. There are going to be many trials and errors along the way. My own thought on the subject we are on the base summit of the Mount Everest of Ideas that will be needed to succeed on this most challenging Endeavour. You could just take as I said before an oil refinery and make it better with whatever will make it better!, If it’s a thermoelectric peltier working off the waste heat or silk stockings on the exhaust stacks to greaten the efficiency then so be it! “Whatever Will Work”?
We live in times that “Great Minds” are needed! I am desperately waiting for the next “Einstein” or “Newton” to brave the world’s challenges!
Waiting patiently with great hope from a simple occupant of Earth.
