20 Bitter Band Breakups: The Beatles {Spinner}
Jun 25th 2010 12:56PM It is a shame that they could not have just taken a break from one another at the hight of their discontent instead of going their seperate ways. The Stones are at each others throat after every tour/recording session. However, they then take an extended break from one another and eventually make peace, at least long enough to make some new music and treat us to another tour.
One can understand George's bitterness as he was creating such wonderful music and was being dismissed as a younger child is dismissed by his older siblings. In hind sight Paul said that he treated George badly and wishes he had allowed him more space in their sessions. Whereas, John had major abandoment issues that he needed to work through and that explains the strong hold that Yoko had over him, but he loved her for whatever reason and we should not blame her for the break-up. If they had just been able to get through the "Klien era" perhaps they could have come back together, but you all know how money distroys relationships be they personal or business and The Beatles was both. There will never be another musical or cultural force to equal The Beatles at least not in my lifetime. Long live The Beatles! "All we need is love!"
U2's Cancelled Tour to Cost Them Millions {Spinner}
Jun 17th 2010 12:33PM Whoa whats with all the hate?! So you don't like U2s music don't listen, you think they are overpaid, don't patronize them. I happen to agree with a good deal of his political views and he has every rite to express those views. The man has done a great deal of good and has used his celebrity in an attempt to make the world a better place. So please keep you nasty, nationalistic, right-wing remarks to yourself. I wish him a speedy recovery. And to all you negative souls out there lighten up, more compassion and less negativity please!

Sean Lennon Defends Yoko Ono {Spinner}
Mar 4th 2010 11:45AM I beleive that all this discord is totally opposite of the philosophy that was communicated by John. Love was his mantra and as loyal fans and believers of his it is our responsibility to carry that philosophy forward. We do him a disservice by condemning those closest to his heart. Whatever Yoko's motivation, I can not fault nor question her love for John, nor Sean's love for them both. We can not continue to blame her for the break up of the Beatles, her involvement was disruptive it's true but there were far more volatile factors involved in the Beatles demise than her. Read the plethera of books available on the subject and you will realize that. Love is the answer and its all we need and unfortunetly it is in far too short supply. So do your karma a favor and lighten up on Yoko and Sean, John would have wanted it that way.
Why 'Valentine Day' Restores My Faith in Filmgoers {Cinematical}
Feb 17th 2010 9:05AM I thought the movie was great. I love a happy ending and "Valentines Day" had a bunch of them. There was plenty of humor, some great "I didn't see that coming" moments, for the most part the casting was spot on, and with the exception of one aal of the characters were likeable. No one got shot, nothing got blown up and no controversy. I go to the movies at least once a week to be entertained and I found Valentines Day to be quite entertaining. Was it as good as Love Actually? Not quite, but close was close enough.
Double Caviar Burger -- A Whopper of a Deal {Urlesque}
Feb 9th 2010 1:00PM An epicurian nightmare, I, for one, love caviar but to waste it like this is a crime. Good caviar should be consummed in small doses on crackers with a nice glass of white wine. Anyone who would consume this behemouth has too much money and insuffficient taste.
Listen: Liverpool's famous Scouse accent {Gadling}
Feb 9th 2010 8:08AM My wife and I have had the pleasure of visiting Liverpool on three occasions, over the last eleven years. We even went there on our Honeymoon (in-be-tween London and Paris) and found the Liverpudians to be a lovely people. I can't get enough of their accent and could listen to the them read the phone book and be entertained. Four of us went to the yearly "Beatlefest" held in Liverpool and it was one of the best times I have ever had. Liverpool really knows how to throw a party; 300,000 people, 6 different stages set up throughout the city, constant entertainment throughout the weekend, most of it outdoors and free. If you are a Beatle fanatic you have got to make the pilgrimage to Liverpool for the festival at least once in your life. It is held at the end of August every year and even if you are not a Beatles fan you will still have a great time as the city is beautiful and the people are genuine and friendly. Go and enjoy, you will not be dissapointed!
Katherine Heigl Planning 'Grey's Anatomy' Hiatus {Inside TV Blog}
Sep 3rd 2009 6:29PM This is not the "golden age of TV" anymore, characters come and go, story lines change, get used to it. I find it a compelling show and will watch it til it fades into the sunset, bring on the new people, new characters to love and hate.
