What not to do on your safari {Gadling}
May 3rd 2011 10:28AM IF the translation(s) be accurate, then she is a twerp. She should not be “running” what is presumably a wildlife sanctuary. She taunts them to get a rush of adreniline!!!????? Creep!
I thought I would give a brief critique of all the stupidity in her imputed words, but it would be too long. Does she understand adaptive behavior, fight/flight, and of the rules for survival in the wild? For instance, that a much smaller wolverine can drive off a bear from its prey. The bear does not find it worthwhile to risk injury. ANY injury may interfere with survival prospects. In other words, the bear is not incredibly stupid like some people can be. Only when life and death (and, by implication, continuance of the genes) hinge on battle will a survival-oriented NONHUMAN being engage.
Species survival? Look at the leopard, who has a tendency to become invisible amongst threats. The leopard is highly successful, I believe estimates are 100,000 or 200,000 leopards in Africa.
Granted that the Leopard’s arboreal abilities help immensely (even though some have become urbanized!), I believe that Cat’s ability to steer clear of impossible odds is superbly helpful as well.
Bottom line: It is not a matter of idiotic human “virtues” such as bravery or cowardice. It is raw and natural life and death.
Democrats Vow to Stop Campaign Finance Changes After Supreme Court Ruling {Politics Daily}
Jan 21st 2010 8:57PM
You are absolutely right! Unfortunately, most Americans would disagree, I believe. I am thinking how dumb America really is - to buy into the Corporate clap-trap on moral or any other issues.
Well, Democracy had been an interesting institution in this country. May it long be remembered as a failed experiment.
Walmart levies lifetime ban against gay couple {Daily Finance}
Nov 10th 2009 11:29AM Parent: While I don't believe all that much of what I read or hear, I know that stores can be idiotic in their handling of us ordinary people who don't have high-level connections. I have seen them in action.
And it doesn't require a "conspiracy" of store employees, and such. It is simple mob or crowd behavior within the confines of a paycheck.
Face it: Wal-Mart is a very powerful corporation and must wield a lot of influence on the local level.
It is naive to think that Wal-Mart really gives a &^^% about the people who have made it #1.
Personally, I think Wal-Mart is #2
Folk Singer Taylor Mitchell Killed by Coyotes {Spinner}
Oct 29th 2009 10:47AM I don’t care much for Coyotes but those people who think "one swallow a summer make." really bug me.
Don't care beans about any ONE camp -
We are talking GENERALLY.
Reminds of them as what says Global Warming don’t exist 'cause it's been a cold winter in Duhsville. Such idiocy serves only to distort facts with illogically-based emotionalism.
I will say one thing - Environmentalists (Enviro-Nazis???? Sounds like needs history lessons) generally seem a heckova lot brighter and much more knowledgeable than many of their idiot detractors.
Folk Singer Taylor Mitchell Killed by Coyotes {Spinner}
Oct 29th 2009 10:01AM I personably feel sorry about the death of this young singer.
These incidents are rare. Even the killings of people by other large predators are extremely rare compared to the butchery and slaughter perpetrated on people by people. We could look at the wars, the homicides, the rapes, the car deaths, "accidental" or otherwise.
Our avarice is to blame, our quest for power and more power and more power at the expense of everything and anything.
Nature is just nature. Violent, maybe. But generally a nature of rules of behavior that give prey and predator a fighting chance. Unlike our "humane" qualities that went ahead and A-Bombed Nagasaki for no Legitimate reason - Japan already had begun surrender, By the way.
Fighting chance? By the time of the 1960's, "normal" men had contrived to kill 250 Million of their fellow, "normal" men.
So, don't start your sob-sh_t about PETA. Animals are Far More "Humane" than most people.
Woman Sues Toyota Over 'Stalker' Marketing Campaign {Lemondrop}
Oct 17th 2009 4:24PM I hink there is not enough of anything in this article to provide a genuine understanding of what the deuce was going on. I belive here is much omitted, and much of that critical.
Essentially, it seems biarre, to put it mildly, that computer stalking would be a way to get people to buy cars. Maybe to call the cyber cops. . . but to buy a car???
What else was in the email, for one thing. If toyota was named, id the victim contact toyota aou it? And if toyota was never mentioned in the email, how was this to steer hher to buying a toyota? I can think of some wierd ways, but I am perplexed about the whole bizarro thing. (I mean, did the email make her an offer to buy a toyota she couldn't refuse??)
Newspaper Apologizes to Palin for Headline That Called Her a 'Broad' {Politics Daily}
Sep 25th 2009 2:56PM It is clear that robots are being used by the right wing lunatc fringe groups who adore Palin and worship stupidity.
All the pro-Palin rants get the five stars, anything smacking of a democratic or moderate (don't even have to be a liberal, mind ya!) gets thumbs down.
Reminds of the AOL bs. pre-election electoral map showing that the Palin/McCain duet was a shor 'nuf thing in every single state!
Riotous boloney!
Arch rivals: Subway to surpass McDonald's in number of restaurants {Daily Finance}
Sep 23rd 2009 1:20PM Thing is this: McDonalds makes its money on burgers, so it will open up only so many franchises - they have experts calculate how many outlets an area can handle.
Subway makes its money on number of stores. The perosn who buys into the franchise takes the profit or loss on a particular brick and mortar. Subway central could make a mint just by selling stores, whether the stores sell sandwiches or not.
The true test is the amount of comparable items sold, or profit.
BTW - I am neutral on Subway and Mac - not routing for either (except MickyD has great and comparatively cheap coffee)
Organic Foods May Not Be Healthier, Report Says {ParentDish}
Sep 3rd 2009 6:27PM The article rots because it addresses a non-issue: I have not heard any claims that Organic superiority has anything to do with vitamins and such.
I am with those who go right to the TRUTH of it: Organic has to do with pesticides, genetic engineering, and the like.
The sad thoing is that an organic farm may be next to a poisonous farm and hence the organic products may catch some secondary toxins and even genetically engineered (pollens).
Just in time for the holidays, IKEA in Britain offers reindeer salami {WalletPop}
Dec 4th 2008 2:27PM The Dwarf brained responses prove to me just what I always believed: Dwarf Brains write like dwarf brains and their value to the world is probably a bit less than that of a microbe.
I sure as hell can legislate what you eat or don't eat. Let's start with this: You Don't eat Human Flesh.
Gonna argue with that one? Or come up with some incredibly" "clever" riposte worthy of someone with an IQ of 98?
Another one: You don't eat meat form endangered species. Or do you again have some semi-literate quasi-intelligible drivel of a retort?
Another one I'll give ya, because it will come about: You don't eat meat from downed animals. I don't mean YOU, individually - I could care less - I mean "collectively" in the "editorial" sense.
And ja, Ich , I mean, yes, I would sure as hell legislate against the sale of meat that was raised in unnecessarily cruel and unusual means.
I don't think you (personally) would agree - your atrocious reasoning suggests you don't give a crap about anything much more than your "self."
