Tennessee Home Burns as Firefighters Watch {AOL Real Estate}
Dec 7th 2011 2:56PM I can't understand why they don't do what they do in CA for the ambulance. You pay a yearly fee and every time the ambulance is called it's free. If you don't pay the annual fee you are charged for the service. To have then stand by doing nothing is just wrong on so many levels.
Teacher Says She Doesn't Regret Punching Student in Face {ParentDish}
Jun 6th 2011 3:43PM I've volunteered in schools as PTA President for years and know that things like this happen, no support from the district. My husband, who was a substitute teacher, was almost beaten with a bat wielding student. My husband know that he had to take the first hit before he could even touch the student. Luckily there was a Teachers Assistant in the class that was quick on her feet and pushed the alarm button for the office. What was this woman supposed to do - allow the kid beat the crap out of her? She should be reinstated and allowed back pay for the time they are "deliberating" their decision. If they were concerned about other students and are going to decide on the best interest in the students they should drop the student and make him go to counseling and/or continuation school and not just suspend him for a month. This is where the disruptive kids know they have the schools by the ba!!s.

Click and Support Veterans via Facebook and Twitter {Blackvoices Main}
May 30th 2011 11:30AM True. And some of those who claim to be veterans winning medals are just bogus. I remember going to a VA function and one of the people in charge there pointed out about 5 people who were falsly stating they were vets. But, he says, they were still hungry so they fed them anyways.

May 30th 2011 11:24AM I really can't believe some of these comments. The negative ones sure aren't military or family of our soldiers. It took YEARS for my husband to accept the fact that he killed for survival. 4th of July was very tramatic for him with all the fireworks going off in our neighborhood. As he said all his medals and 25 cents could get him a dime cup of coffee because Viet Nam era vets returned home to hate mongers and he still had to fight to get the medical care he needed from the VA. I would go the the VA with him and felt sorry for the older vets who had no one there to help them fight the system.
Students Fed Cold Sandwiches to Punish Them for Hot Lunch Disses {ParentDish}
May 17th 2011 4:52PM I'm sorry, but the school lunches DO STINK. When my kids were in school I couldn't believe what they were passing off as "nutritious hot meals." Sandwiches packed in plastic and nuked so you can't tell what kind of meat (which is like rubber) is used and a bun or bread that's soaked because of the steam. And full of salt and preservatives. They got better meals when I made them from home and believe me those were considered cold sandwiches.
What Not to Say to a Military Wife {MyDaily}
Apr 13th 2011 11:37AM How about something YOU CAN say to them - "Is there anything you need or that I can do to be of help to you?" These men and women leave and leave their spouces and children and so the upkeep of the house is left to the one remaining home. Husbands and overwhelmed with all that their wives do and wives are left with home repair. Also, many of their friends don't know what to say or are uncomfortable having them, say, at a family style barbeque. Invite the family to share in family meals with you, do minor home repairs, offer to babysit, etc. They need our support just as much as the soldiers do.
Girl Scouts Get Big Donations After Thief Swipes Cookie Cash {ParentDish}
Mar 22nd 2011 4:32PM No where in the story does it say the leader WASN'T there. During the transition it would be very easy to look away from the cash box (Packing up unsold boxes, discarding empty boxes, picking up trash the girls may have left as well as making sure each girl gets sent home with the proper parent) all takes your attention and it would only take would be 2 seconds for someone to take off with the money. It is commendable that the excess is going to Japan - that's the true Girl Scout way. Great leaders here.
10 Ways You Can Become More Psychic {MyDaily}
Mar 19th 2011 12:56PM I agree that everyone has these abilities. In fact mine scared my husband (boyfriend at the time) so I toned it down. But I still have the ability and am glad that she has written the book so that I can exercise to bring back more of my abilities.
