Kiev, Ukraine: Is it really a 'charming' city, like the Associated Press says? {Gadling}

Nov 27th 2009 11:53AM Hmm.Kiev CAN be a wonderful place. It has some extreme beauty but its also suffering because its in an international no-mans land. The place is an economic mess, despite the property bubble. I've found Russians to be wonderful ( or sometimes not so)
But Ukrainians seem to be blunt and charmless compared to Russians - atleast in my findings.

All the advancements of the Russian Federation seem to have passed the Ukraine by.And therein lies the problem of the Ukraine.Reunification with Russia, and an end this sick nonsense from West Ukrainians of glorification of Nazism, would solve many of these problems.

My grandfather was from Kiev, so its a special place to me.But sometimes I can see why he left.
