Mar 5th 2013 4:33PM we pay a fortune to subsidize air and highway travel. who pays for the tsa, for the airports, for the faa tower people and radar installations, and the highways.
rail is a good alternative for travel of three hours of less. you save two hours and the hassle of the tsa at the airport.
nothing wrong with govt. subsidizing transportation.

Jan 22nd 2011 2:51PM why is it that cutting taxes is always the answer? taxes were cut in 2001. that did not prevent the big recession. how is cutting them going to help? how does that balance the budget? get people unemployment benefits?
the answer to all ills is not to cut taxes. if it were, then eliminate all tax and borrow everything. ah, but people who want to cut tax also want to stop borrowing. no one names one program to cut save public radio and the new health care law. however, we got in this mess before the health care law passed and public radio uses so little money that cutting it would be symbolic.
