Design of New U.S. Passport {Gadling}
Apr 20th 2007 9:51PM Just for the record, I'm not an "America hater" either. I do, however, have an opinion, which is that I dislike garish design work and excessive blind patriotism just as much as I dislike that certain faction of Americans that travel to foreign countries and rudely expect everyone there to speak English.
The term "ugly American" was coined for a reason - doesn't mean you have to be one.

Apr 19th 2007 3:03PM I hope the movie is as good as the story seems to be! :) Thanks for sharing this.
Design of New U.S. Passport {Gadling}
Apr 16th 2007 5:44PM It is indeed extraordinary. In a "Hey, look what I purchased at the interstate truck stop souvenir store!" kind of way.
Seriously - not only is it poorly designed and unattractive, but do we need such an overload of flashy Americana on a document that we might be taking into countries where we Americans are not... well, let's just say not necessarily so popular?
Sigh.

Dec 8th 2006 12:07AM Actually, of all places, I have found tiny bottles of both Alcon and Bausch & Lomb solution at... Wal-Mart. For about $1.50. :)
Seven days of Style: Nonliquid cosmetics that fly {Stylelist}
Sep 18th 2006 5:39PM Checking your bag isn't that reliable any more - if the airline's never lost or delayed your luggage, then consider yourself lucky! :)
Another option a friend of mine did (that worked beautifully) was to stick all of her cosmetics/lotions in a small cardboard box and mail them ahead of time via 2-day air to her destination. Everything got there fine, she could still carry her luggage (clothes, shoes) on board, and she had everything she needed when she got there! Great idea.
