Nov 1st 2012 10:30AM Sounds like the neighbors need to get some animal traps big enough to hold a German Shepard and set them up. Bait them with raw meat and set them up
on or near the offending property. When something is trapped, call the police to send animal control to pick them up. Bait with raw meat and veggies for the lizard. Set up rat traps and poisons. Take matters into your own hands. I do that in my downtown home/property and have caught opossums, raccoons, and even a skunk. Trapping is not difficult.

Nov 11th 2010 11:57AM I can beleive you didn't mention the schnauzer when discussing the animals for people that are allergic to animals. I've had one from a pup, now 8 years old and
I have bad allergies. He doesn't shed. He sleeps on my bed. I have never had any problems with allergies with him. He is extrememly smart, 18 stuffed toys
and he knows all their names and will go get the one I ask for. I have COPD and the Dr. said I have to walk 30 minutes minimum every day. Some days I don't feel like it and wouldn't go if it weren't for him (Pepper), Our walks are the highlight of his day and he gets very excited and presistant at our "Walk time"
I tell him no. I just don't feel up to it. He gives me a cock of the head and those
big brown eyes seem to get a little moist and I find myself reaching for his leash.
He has me well trained. ;-)

Nov 11th 2010 11:50AM Amen to the vet bills. I am 68 years old with COPD and I spend almost as much for my little schnauzer's medical bills than I do for my own. There should be a limit what they can charge. I did find that shopping around for a vet helped. We have a very good vet now that doesn't charge TOO outragiously.

What can you do to help them not feel the loneliness that comes from daily seeing so much attention brought to loving families while they are left out.
