Personal checks poised to be a relic {WalletPop}

Nov 24th 2009 10:21PM Oh sure...pay on line..it's great..UNTIL YOUR COMPUTER CRAPS OUT!!! Oh sure..do online classes..UNTIL YOUR COMPUTER CRAPS OUT!!!!!

Sure I use a debit card at times but still prefer that check too. Checks sure do come in handy WHEN THE COMPUTER CRAPS OUT!!!!!

Leave the checks alone; let people still use both!!!!

By the way..my mom is in her 70s and has no idea how to use a computer........don't force EVERYBODY to try technology please......show some respect for the elderly out there!!!

Walmart to Amazon: You're going down! {Daily Finance}

Nov 19th 2009 6:55PM Of course Walmart is talking trash - their comments also reflect on their trashy stores! You notice how they want your buisness but right when you leave the registers they come running up with "I need to see your receipt! The heck with that! I'm not gonna be treated with smiles when I enter the store and then like a thief when I leave the registers!I haven't shopped there in ages! You can still find bargains at dollar stores, Target, Ross, Kohl's, other department stores, Amazon, Overstock.com, Istock.com, etc.

For the people that don't live by the bigger cities, just start planning a monthly trip to where one is by you....still makes more sense, bigger selections of items, and better service to you I'm sure!

I've shopped with Amazon for years, and let me tell you have not been disappointed! I had a problem with an order once and they promptly took care of it! Unlike Walmart where they act like you're trying to dupe them!

Let Walmart do the trash talking - it's just a reflection on THEM!

Walmart levies lifetime ban against gay couple {Daily Finance}

Nov 10th 2009 8:07AM This store treats EVERYBODY like their thieves, doesn't matter who you are. At ours they don't even let you leave the cashier isle, they coming running up with the "I need to see your receipt!" line if something is not in a bag. I don't shop there anymore - the working public will eventually get tired of being treated like a thief when they aren't! Although a giant retailer right now, one day somebody will sue and win against them and that's the day I will laugh! And the other post is right, the People of Walmart link is what the shoppers look like! LOL! Too bad in this economy somebody doesn't have the money to start a better store chain to compete with them!Just remember Walmart, what goes around comes around - look at the other buisnesses that got snooty with customers - they are now begging!

Self-checkout machines cause 'stage fright' in shoppers {Daily Finance}

Nov 3rd 2009 7:46AM Just a few words before I start my day. First of all, a commenter on here said it best; the machines at Walmart DO lock up and keep demanding to place an item in the bag when you have done it several times! Then a snooty employee likes to rush over like you're blowing up the store and state "It says put it in the bag!" Well it is in the bag dummy! How many of you have had that happen:

One more comment too - some of you are making statements about getting an education - how many of you are going to finally wake up and smell the coffee? How many people do have diplomas and still can't find the job they went to school for and are working at Walmart??? Hello?? Education doesn't mean anything anymore in this country.......

Cries for Help Not Always Answered {Sphere Lite}

Nov 1st 2009 12:19PM Hey Gatso27.....just an FYI - I think about six months ago a man saved a woman by pullng her out of a car that went off a bridge...and she ended up paralyzed and is now suing! I'm not trying to be a know it all on here just wanted to let you know that people do this even while you're helping them. And another thing I just realized....you notice all this stuff takes place in CALIFORNIA?? You help people and they sue! You do nothing and they sue! Maybe that state of California should have a total overhaul of what they call laws and government!

Maybe we should all take a good look at the movie "Back To the Future Part II" - All laywers were abolished!!!! :)

Cries for Help Not Always Answered {Sphere Lite}

Nov 1st 2009 11:16AM People, these things have gone on since the dawn of man. Nobody gets involved and women bear the brunt of being a woman. It even started in the Bible; Abraham rapes his slave and nobody does anything about it. Even though she was a slave this was wrong and I'm sure she was not happy about it! Yes I call it rape! I'm sorry if some of you have problems with this since it comes from the Bible, but that's what it was.

Don't blame movies and music; Cain killed Abel and I'm sure there was no rock-n-roll or rap music then and I'm also sure there was no movies then either!!! WAKE UP!! This is how mankind is! It doesn't matter what time period we live in, what kind of movies or music we have, this crap will go on!

I saw this on tv before; look at this video of a child being kidnapped and NOBODY steps in to help except some great young black men and another man. This is in a big city and went on for hours!

We should bring back the private justice era; maybe some of these "third world countries" are in the right frame of mind. Now I'm not condoning women being punished for something no fault of their own at all like they do on some of those countries, I'm saying "an eye for an eye." And if supposedly these days DNA is actually true and a fact, there should be no more mistaken identities going on! Hopefully the DNA is checked at least three times by three different people to confirm crimes! I'm just saying that you rape/kill/torture somebody, let the punishment fit the crime!

As for you parents always playing the innocent and saying "my son would never do that", don't even go there! When my son was growing up I ALWAYS searched his room, without his knowledge, while putting his clothes away. He never knew that but I'll be "danged" if he was going to be involved in gang activities, drugs, bombs, etc. And before some of you go on about "that's invasion of his privacy" just remember I'm the parent and this is MY house, not his! I'll search whatever room in MY house that I want! No way was I going to play stupid and let me son hurt others! Thank goodness I never found anything and he's an okay kid! :) But if caught with anything, he would have had holy hell come down on him! Society is not there to raise MY kid, I am!

Brit Named Harry Potter Is Living a Magical Nightmare {Lemondrop}

Nov 1st 2009 9:45AM Hey I went throught it too for a while. My first name is Belinda and back in the 80s I was constantly hearing crap like "Hey! Were you named after Belinda Carlisle?" (Pop group the Go-Gos) I would cut stupid people back to the quick stating "Nope! She was named after ME!" (I'm only a few years older than her). And think about this too - how the heck could I be named after somebody famous when they didn't even become famous until they reached adulthood and i'm only a few years older than her - DUH!!!!!! Now, my middle name is another story....that IS after a gorgeous star from the 50s and 60s whom I've always admired and no it does NOT start with an M! :)

Air New Zealand turns unsold coach seats into your new bed {Gadling}

Oct 25th 2009 10:25AM Wonderful idea! Have you all seen Singapore Airlines - my gosh! those planes are HUGE with BEDS!!! Of course those classy acts are for the 1st class people and that costs thousands of dollars! So this new way of charging only around $100 to stretch out more on a long flight is a great bargain...but instead of asking if people want it they should just do it for ALL people traveling...going over the Pacific are LONG LONG flights and some people can get health problems sitting cramped for so long.
