Airline law ends long Tarmac delays, fine threat improves performance {Gadling}
Jun 6th 2010 3:17PM It is late spring, early summer and it has been a little over a month. Wait until winter before saying nothing bad is going to happen from this. I still stand by my opinion things are not going to always be so great for passengers: http://www.airlinereporter.com/2010/04/my-thoughts-on-the-tarmac-delay-rule-preview-not-a-fan/

Spirit Airlines' fee for carry-on bags might be stupid, but it shouldn't be illegal {Gadling}
Apr 19th 2010 1:46PM I think a lot of people find the fee "stupid" because of how a lot of the media is portraying the fees. There is a lot of mis-information and a lot of hype going on with the fees. People need to remember that if they don't agree with fees, they won't happen.
When airlines first announced checked bag fees, people complained non-stop, but yet they paid them and now they are common. I am betting the same thing will happen with carry-on fees.
For more opinion on how these fees are not the end of the world check out: http://www.airlinereporter.com/2010/04/are-spirit-airlines-new-carry-on-fees-really-that-crazy/
Government harassing blogger for source of TSA directive "leak" {Gadling}
Dec 30th 2009 10:35AM This is just crazy. The TSA should be spending more time working on security than going after bloggers. Chris is not the only one too. Steven Frischling who runs Flying With Fish blog also got his computer searched by the Dept of Homeland Security.

Boeing's 787 Dreamliner takes flight for the first time {Engadget}
Dec 16th 2009 2:23PM I know a lot of people wonder why this is such a big deal. This is not just another airplane. This is the next stage in commercial aviation. It doesn't look all that different (like the Boeing 707 when it first came out), but this aircraft will do things no other aircraft has ever done before.
To learn more about how this plane is different check out the blog "Why the Boeing 787 Matters" http://www.airlinereporter.com/?p=2508
Airborne booze fueling Brit air rage to new heights {Gadling}
Oct 23rd 2009 1:57PM These sort of things happen on the ground all the time and alcohol is still served. The difficulty can be when you can just kick someone out of the bar or you need to call the cops. I know at least on state in the US (New Mexico) held US Airways responsible for over serving (http://www.airlinereporter.com/?p=1822). That really could start precedent for other places to do the same.
Really, I would rather people have the ability to control themselves a little bit more! Some people really need the booze to handle the flight!
Bio jet-fuel: fact or fiction? {Gadling}
Oct 15th 2009 6:04PM I think it is a hard time for the industry right now. The movement to go green started when the business was doing better. Now, most airlines are not willing to pay more to be green. Instead looking to have people bring on less weight (ie: http://www.airlinereporter.com/?p=1797) which uses less fuel (and also less money).
Also, I think there is a movement going on more than just the aircraft. Airlines are also looking at using bio fuels for the ground equipment, which does cut down on a lot of carbon dioxide.
Plus, even without looking at the environment, bio fuels can help countries create self-supporting fuel economies, instead of being at the mercy of oil-rich countries.
