Nov 3rd 2009 6:43PM I would have been more interested to see how you felt about the program's efficacy at a language for which you had NO prior learning. When I was looking to learn Spanish in advance of a trip (I studied French but no Spanish in school), I looked at several online options. Rosetta has such a great name that of course I looked into it. The sample lesson for Rosetta is in Turkish, just to give the user a feel for how it works. What I found was that the picture 'quizzes' were mixed and matched in such a way that if you simply learned the words for Man, Woman, Boy and Girl, you could guess at the verb without actually learning it. Not really a useful "skill" in real life. I went with another, less expensive program, and while I didn't get fluent by any means, I could get by for the most part.
